Having a rare and lovely huge mug of this as I catch up on Being Human (the US version). So comforting this tea, especially as I try and wind down (really early!) for the night. Here’s to hoping I actually sleep a good five hours straight. ;)

2.5 tsp in 20 oz.

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 5 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 20 OZ / 591 ML

A surprisingly creamy night tea, similar to Lemon Chiffon but with orange built in there. I remember loving this when I first found it, in an extremely generous tea exchange on RedditGifts a few years back. It’s actually better than I recollect!

1.5 tsp in 12 oz.

Flavors: Cream, Lemon Zest, Orange Zest

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 5 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

Overleaf this and prepare to die. Holy moly JustJames, now I know what you were referring to. Kept a tiny bit from OMGsrsly’s bag, understeeped, and yet… it’s all chili. Still delicious, and like drinking liquid fire.

Preparation

I’m cackling over here. :D Awesome, isn’t it?

Totally, amazingly awesome.

Properly leafed, this really does taste like baked coconut. Lovely, yet there’s something that’s sitting off with me. I have to wonder what it is, because it’s enough for me to put it in the swap pile for someone else to love.

1.5 tsp in 12 oz.

Flavors: Coconut, Cream

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 5 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

Hmmm… One I was looking at for if/when I made an order with them. Maybe I should reconsider it.

MissB

I throw the rest of what I have in your Root Beer – themed bag, if that works for you? Pass it along to someone else if it’s not your thing. :)

Tried it again today, this time double bagging it and steeping it less. Much better – it tastes like a chai, for starters – however now I’m missing any sense of coconut. It’s an okay blend, and I’m sure I’m cool with sipping it down, however I will refrain from purchasing more.

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 2 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

Gosh I love this tea. I wish I could pick out all the lovely flavors in it. Tulsi, definitely. Maybe something sweet and fruity, yet hard to place. A hint of licorice perhaps? Dunno. I just love it. A really unusual blend of flavors that I’m sipping way too fast.

Last time, I oversteeped this. This time, I only steeped it for two minutes, and it was still tasting astringent and icky. I ended up dumping it after a few sips.

drank Chai Apricot by Tea Desire

Odd floral note in here that tastes really artificial. Where is it coming from? I otherwise really like this, a nice sweet chai blend, the apricot is quite lovely, however this fake perfumey whatever-it-is ruins it for me.

1.5 tsp in 12 oz.

Flavors: Apricot, Cinnamon, Flowers, Peppercorn

Preparation

This one reminds me of Apricot Jam and Ketchup Chips – and this is probably super weird to say, but I love that about it.

MissB

Oh! What a great flavor profile. I just need to get rid of the floral notes and I’d love it as much as that description.

Bio

A few years ago, the obsession with tea started. The cupboard got bigger and bigger, more swaps occurred, group buys, secret rendezvous with local teapassionistas… and that’s how you end up with 500+ different kinds of tea in your home. At one time.

Almost all of the tea was given away, sold, or otherwise shared. A few relics still remain. I now travel full time with only two carryon bags to my name. One quarter of those bags are tea.

It’s still a challenge to avoid the chipmunk-like hoarding of The Teas, yet, the lightness of being from having so little compels me more.

If I have enough, I’m happy to share. If I’m in your area, I’d love to swap, meet for tea, and explore together.

As for the day-to-day stuff, I’m focused almost entirely on Love, (yes, with a capital L), Spirit/Self, transformation, travel and my writing and speaking work.

What kinds of teas do I normally like?

YES: flavored teas, fruity, dessert, chai, and spicy (REALLY spicy).

A FONDNESS FOR: all white teas, malty black teas, any herbal or medicinal teas, strange/weird teas you can only get in one place.

ALLERGIC TO: strawberries, lavender

DISLIKES: any added sugars, grains, lapsang souchong, and overly floral teas – I might enjoy a Jasmine Green every once in a while, but unless it’s a creamy floral tea (think roses in a chai, or the smoothness of a floral note in a French tea), I’ll likely pass. Earl Greys are a hit or miss with me; heavy on the cream or fruit notes and I might like it, heavy on the blergamot and I definitely won’t.
