I tried to review this last night and Steepster froze, so trying again. I used to make this with microwaved water back in the day. My husband is feeling under the weather so I brewed it using my tea kettle. What a difference! This has a unique flavor that I can’t quite place- maybe a blend of chamomile, vanilla, and other herbs? It is sweet, soft, soothing.. sleepytime is the perfect name. Doesn’t taste fakey or overly flavored for a night brew. I found it quite enjoyable- might be my favorite herbal so far. Not bad for an inexpensive grocery store pick-up!

I avoided Celestial Seasonings for years because the packaging is too cutesy for my tastes but it turns out I have enjoyed pretty much everything I have tried. I do wish they would lose the spearmint altogether or switch it for peppermint. I must be in the minority as they aren’t budging.

Nightshifter

I can understand why you’d prefer peppermint, but on the bright side it isn’t strong in this tea at all- I couldn’t even tell it was there until you mentioned it! :)

Oh, hello beautiful. I’ve missed you so much since I ran out last time! I ordered 100g, but wish I had room in the cupboard for 250g. Having as a latte and just as cozy as I remember.

I’m planning on having this one on Halloween! :D

Yum! It works with chocolate- I had a square of high quality organic milk chocolate with it yesterday and it was tasty.

So I’ve talked about how I think this doesn’t taste like vanilla. It is a nice black base, but the flavoring is too sweet, lacking vanilla complexity, and somewhat artificial. On the bright side, I’ve discovered it is much more enjoyable when cool. I’ve been sipping all day on the same pot and towards the evening I decided it wasn’t as bad as I thought, which is fortunate as I have probably 2oz left, lol. GO has absolutely ruined me for vanilla teas.

drank Ruby Pie by Butiki Teas

I haven’t had this one in a while, but when I steeped it this morning, there was an entire bunny-shaped cookie floating in the top of the infuser, lol. True to form, Ruby Pie is bursting with flavor, particularly strawberry- and is naturally sweet. I can’t drink dessert-type teas every morning, but I really love to have this every so often when I have a sweet tooth for something fruity. I was sad to read that Butiki is closing as they have some truly unique blends, but best of luck to Stacy with her new adventures!

Smooth, medium-bodied, pleasant, flavorful. There is nothing offensive about this tea and I think it would be a good starter straight black for someone to try. While it may not be my personal favorite, it is definitely worth consideration for those that tend to avoid the heavy-bodied CTC types in the morning.

This is a lovely tea, but I finished it today and it is time to say farewell. Sweet maple, pecans (with that hint of bitter that goes with their skins), a touch of citrus, and a lovely mineral note at the end with more maple. I would totally enjoy this one again- it is a great maple/pecan autumn blend that ages well and can be enjoyed straight or with sweetener alike.

So I found a hidden sample of this in the cupboard yesterday, which was great because I thought I was out completely. It was exactly what I needed to soothe an unhappy tummy. Bright sparkling minerals, airy, naturally sweet, and faintly nutty- what’s not to like? For those that don’t like strong savory greens, this would be a good one to try.

I’ve been trying to post reviews for days now so I have a backlog of teas. Long story short, this one is malty with some bakery (think based bread, not pastries) notes. I am sure there is more complexity, but I have will do a more thorough review when I can actually post the day I am enjoying it. Happy Sunday!

Working on some of my older autumn teas this week. I’ve had almost a full ounce of this now and unfortunately, I still do not get much in the way of creamy notes or pumpkin. The cinnamon is a touch overwhelming also, but sometimes spices can do that regardless of the base. I don’t hate this, but it is definitely not one of my favorites from Butiki or for the season. I need room for David’s Pumpkin Chai in the cupboard, which is my personal Fall favorite. <3

Had this cocoa treat yesterday morning, but Steepster wasn’t loading properly at the time. It seems to be working today, so fingers crossed! This tea is sweet and truly reminds me of chocolate right from the first sip. I saw some reviews that indicate that WP teas are overhyped and I agree that there is no tea that tastes like liquid fudge or ice cream, but this one is pretty darn delicious nevertheless. Happy Sunday!

Overhyped??! The teas aren’t actual chocolate but they are definitely the most like chocolate that I’ve ever had the chance to sip.

Nightshifter

I agree- they are the closest I’ve ever had, too. Love ’em. :)
