Oh my. I find this tea absolutely… delicious. Almost… delicate? I got a small haul from NecessiTeas this week and I’m already planning another order. The blueberry smell is very in your face, when steeped it feels like it perfectly compliments the the other flavors. I’ll have to revisit this when I’m feeling well (I have a cold at present), but at present this is one I would definitely like to keep on hand. I really wasn’t expecting to enjoy this one as much as I am. :) Hopefully when I’m better any licorice flavor doesn’t… become apparent (can’t stand the stuff) but in the interim, yes!

NICE! Upon opening the bag I kinda freaked. The SMELL. Amazing! …Every year for my birthday I’d ask for a carrot cake, my favorite since what must have been 1994? Due to dietary restrictions I haven’t had a baked “legit” carrot cake in forever. This totally hits the mark for satiating my cravings. I’m not traditionally a big fan of rooibos but I think in this blend I think it’s the perfect compliment. It’s sweet, slightly spicey, and can definitely detect the carrot (not overpowering, just about right). Some seriously epic ingenuity from the Tea Guys (this and other blends). I’ll be keeping some on hand. :)

I’ll have to check this out! I always used to ask for carrot cake for my b-day too!!! It’s the best! :-)

This one is very good with a bit of cream…french vanilla in particular.

drank Earl Grey Cream by Tea Guys

I tend to love all Earl Greys to some extent (unless they’re just awful) but can’t seem to find the perfect blend. The bergamot is pleasant in this guy and not at all overdone. The vanilla is pretty present and accounted for in fragrance but I feel like I kind of missed it in the flavor. For me this definitely went better paired with some sweetened almond milk, probably wouldn’t drink it without. This runs a touch earthy for my taste but overall it’s really solid.

drank Green Walnut by Tea Guys

Based on the recommendation of LauraR picked some of this up. (Thank you!)

This is crazy good! Upon smelling my tea haul on the way home I was actually getting really desperate to try this. It kind of reminds me of when I went to this absolutely awesome vegan restaurant in Bellingham, WA (Bloom) and the guy had hooked us up with this batch of super fresh walnut milk he’d just made… (best nut milk I’ve ever had hands down), with less nutmeg and more rock you in the jaw with caramel-esque and very mild coconut undertones. I had to steep this way longer than usual for green tea to suit my taste, but it was so worth it. I’m debating if I have a new favorite. Scary given my black tea preferences.

drank Lady Grey by Twinings

In a moment of desperation, I swiped a bag of my roommates tea. To be fair he’d offered, but I generally try not to get into my roommates food or beverage. I didn’t expect to enjoy this, I’d had limited experience with Twinings, but the name and description sounded promising. I was actually pretty blown away. I’m kind of a freak for most things Earl Grey, and the subtlety of this was a surprise but entirely pleasant. Smooth, mild, kinda rocks me.

While I don’t detest it, it’s nothing special. I sincerely can’t think of a more “meh” English Breakfast. The price point is right for bulk but it leaves a lot to be desired. If left steeping too long becomes quite bitter, in my case near-undrinkable. Not sure of the margin of error here, just felt like it went from tolerable to ugh in virtually no time flat. Unless you’re desperate, there is much better out there. Maybe it’d be good for blending/flavoring..?

As far as general boxed grocery store teas go, I’m actually pretty fond of this one. The store closest to me doesn’t have a particularly great selection, and this is the only Earl Grey they stock I’ll touch. It’s a big more mild than I like in my Earl Grey, the bergamot isn’t particularly strong, and I also feel the tea itself is really mild. I’ve detected not even a hint of bitterness, it’s just really smooth and chill. This is probably the only Earl Grey I’ll leave be without adding almond milk, though I generally take my green teas plain so it’s not a complete shock. It’s not my favorite by any stretch of the imagination, but it does me in a pinch and it’s great for the times I run out of milk and I’m dying for a citrus or black tea.

I’m a sucker for flavored black teas and this is no exception. This has a very sweet aroma, and does well with sweetened original almond milk, I would say to the point that it compliments the “nutty” flavor and adds a sweetness I suspect would be absent had it not been for the addition. The flavor is pretty nice, I would say that the vanilla comes off as a bit artificial but the cinnamon kind of brings it together and reminds me a bit of vanilla wafers or shortbread cookies. It’s not quite what I’d look for in an every day tea, almost appropriate that it’s seasonal for the Holidays (something I’d look forward to coming home from after being out in the cold), but will serve as a nice dessert tea. Will likely stock up on a few boxes to last me for such occasions. Not disappointed in the least.

I kind of detest ginger teas, so I went into this halfway expecting something entirely unpalatable, halfway not knowing what to expect. I’m a big black tea fan, love it dark and rich. I love/adore everything pumpkin, so there was a shot I’d like it.

This reminds me of pumpkin pie, in all the right ways. I wouldn’t say this tastes like a proper black tea per se, but great for a dessert tea. (Testament to the not-such-a-great-black-teaness, my boyfriend cares for this tea a great deal and seems to otherwise detest tea.) The only downside for me is – when it gets cooler the clove is more apparent. Otherwise, rock! I can totally enjoy pumpkin pie without fussing over baking.

I detest ginger teas too, so your review is appreciated! I will have to try this one now. :)
