2966 Tasting Notes
(Sherlock was amazing! I love Mary, as it turns out. Now I cant wait for episode three!)
I love Tower of London. The fruit is almost a savory fruit, and the touch of honey to the flavor is magnificent.
I’ve paired it, this morning, with an english muffin with clover honey on it. Delicious. Highly reccomended.
I have been promised the second episode of Sherlock tonight, but my Sherlock buddy is off playing hocky! Gah. Get back here, stupid Sherlock-buddy, so I can watch detectives in great coats.
In other news, this tea remains a creamy cup of spices, and very nice as an after dinner tea.
This is not my favorite vanilla. I’m trying all the tricks, overleafing, lowering the steep time, rasing the steep time. Its all resulted in a dusty tasting black base, with a suggestion of vanilla following afterwards.
Its not a bad tea, I should say. So far I havnt found it bitter, but its not the highly coveted perfect vanilla tea that I am questing for.
Well, I can certainly smell the cherry of this cherry and chocolte blend. And the fist sip reveals a lot of cherry flavor.
It does taste a bit like a cherry liqure chocolate. Huh. Somehow I wasnt expecting that.
It is just the tiniest bit artificial tasting, as well, but not aggresively so. I’m alright with overlooking the slight fakeness to the taste, as its an interesting combo.
I am not getting what I want out of this tea. It smells very nice, but it doesnt brew up to what I think it will. I think I was expecting pie, even though this is supposed to be cake flavored. I’m not getting that either, actually.
I do taste apple, but its subtle, perhaps a little too subtle for me.
I’ve come to the conclusion that this smells a bit better than it tastes to me, but its still a lovely, sugary indulgence. And, being tea, the guilt factor of indulgence is almost nil!
I found it funny that my sister gave me some of this in her christmas gift to me of 12 teas. This is the only one from her that I had tried before, and was not a very big fan. Its a heavy and very perfumy rose tea. I love rose teas, but this was a bit too much, even for me.
But maybe its because its the last bag of this, but I dont mind it at all today. Still, I wont be bringing this back into my cupboard myself.
Sipdown!
This tea would go well with anything honey flavored. To me, it’s kind of a punchy tea, and the contrast sounds delicious.
