2967 Tasting Notes
The standard operating proceedure for S&V teas this morning. Overleafing, and a short steep.
This appears to have worked, as I like this much more than the first time I tried it. Its not a sweet tea, but it is almondy. A normal almond flavor, not the candied almond, or an almond baked good (not that there is anything wrong with that. I adore those). This has brewed up toasty and mellow, and perfectly pleasant. And the shorter steep time has taken care of the overpowering black base problem. Good.
Yum. This is so soothing. Its a gentle wash of peppermint over me.
And, horrors, its the end of this! Eeep! I might see if I can snag a little more, as I am questing for lovely gentle teas like this, to have on hand. At least till the end of the frost goes away….
Sipdown!
Came home from the anime convention, brewed up this, and put my feet up. It was a ton of fun. We went to some good panels, and I bought some beautiful art. My favorite part was all the talented artists who were showing work, and the magnificent costumes. Everyone is so enthusiastic at a convention!
This tea was a Chrismas gift from a coworker, who knows my love of tea and vanilla, so that was unbelievably adorable that she gave it to me. And despite the presence of at least three vanilla teas in my cupboard, and one of them decaf, I always operate under the opinion that you cannot have enough vanilla.
Its not a strong vanilla. The rooibos is a little stronger than the vanilla. Hmm. But its a perfectly pleasant cup of rooibos, and I will happily drink it all.
Whew, what a day.
I am off to an anime convention today, and feel the great desire for a “fun tea” to do so. This is what I lighted upon.
My boyfriend and I did this convention last year, and it was a lot of fun. But we’ve never got it together enough to wear costumes. Maybe next year….
Closet purge 2014! I should really do this more often. I am pulling everything out of my closet, and giving it the ol eye, and arranging it into three piles. Yes, absolutly keeping, and these get hung back up/ put into drawers- purgatory. I’ve got six months to wear it, or out it goes,- and the nopes, which are being boxed up to consign or give to charity.
This is actually very cathartic, and I’m finally forcing myself to get rid of things that are too big/I havent worn in years/are not my style anymore. Every year I try to refine my fashion sense, and part of that is getting rid of the old stuff.
This tea is a perfect accompaninment to it. Its uncomplicatedly good, and I dont need to focus all of my attention on it to enjoy it.

This morning at work was very busy, but it went well! So I rewarded myself by cooking a nice lunch, and brewing up this.
I love Paris, but I understeeped this today. Well, that is my own folly. Its still nice, if not quite as good as it usually is. My own fault, and not the teas.
Of the Simpson & Vail teas I ordered, this is the most distinct of the ones I’ve tried. I do get gingerbread, though the ginger is not as intense as I could hope.
I had just a bit of this left, so I overleafed a little and brewed it up. This tastes just about the same as before overleafing.
As much as I like ginger, its time to sip this one down. Goodbye Gingerbread black! I’ll move on to other gingerbread teas.
In a bit, when my significant other is back from roller skating, he and I are going to watch episode one of the new season of Sherlock. We’ve been too busy to sit down and do it till now, and I’m going mad! I cant wait to see it. Nobody spoil anything!
