I needed pep this morning! I had so very little sleep last night, that I am thoroughly exsausted. Add to that a number of pressing work projects, deadlines, and a boss who zipped in and said “I need to leave in half an hour, and need a completely new project done from scratch before I go!” Grr, bosses.
So, I’m glad I had this in the morning, then. Its got strength to it, and a lot of that coveted pep. Good.

Ah, the errands of the morning are all taken care of, so I am taking a tea break, and this is the one.
When I drink black teas later in the day, I like to have one that I find to be “milder”, and this one fits the bill. A dreamy cloud of almond sweetness. I love it. I’m tempted to horde it, but that’s silly. This is something to be drunk and enjoyed. And I’ve got a pot or two left.

This is one of those mornings where nothing seems to be going especially well. I was out of milk, the skirt I wanted to wear has a hole in it, and every shade of lipstick seemed like the wrong one.
Sigh.
At least there is tea! One of my early mornings, which never helps in the aargh, so a failsafe is needed.
Bingo. The most drunk tea in my cupboard for a reason, its lightning fast, easy to prepare, and good without being fussy. Thank goodness for falesafe teas on days when everything else goes wrong.

I hope your days starts going better soon!

drank Capri by Harney & Sons
2967 tasting notes

Its a weird morning, a combination of a lot of good sleep, and an odd emotional state. Its making for an odd morning.
So I decided I wanted a gentle tea, something mild, flavorful, and delicate. Enter Capri.
I loved the rich smell of vanilla from it, and the touch of warm earthiness.
I, however, screwed up the brewing of this, which make it a little too light and mild. Oh well. Can’t win them all.

Its back to work after a three day weekend. Always hard to do. Argh.
So, we need a good tea to get started with. Enter Boston Blend.
I feel that Boston a seriously underrated tea here. So, so good. Autumn in a cup. Lovely.

The seasons are starting the change around here, so its time to move it on the cold weather teas. This is, of course, a wonderful tea, but its time for it to move along.
Figgy, earthy, rich, an all around nice cup.

drank Orange Dulce by Mighty Leaf Tea

Happy Valentines Day!
I’m actually a bit of a fan of Valentines, not for the rampant commercialism, but because I think its nice to have a day to remind us to be kind to those we love. A dozen roses not required. Though I am a stationary freak, so everyone got a card this year.
The converts (boyfriend and his roommate) are really into Mightly Leaf tea, and I’m afraid I’m not as up on it as they are. But its still a decent enough cup, and as I’m on a bit of a citrus kick, is quite nice.

drank Orange & Ginger by Lupicia
2967 tasting notes

I needed pep this morning, as it was practically a Labor of Hercules to get out of bed this morning.
When I need pep, I like citrus in my tea, and ginger is always welcome, so welcome, Orange & Ginger!
Its a really nice blend. Not overpowering, a good balance of the citrus and the ginger. Reminds me a bit of ROT’s Ginger Peach.
I’ve got a lot of ginger in my cupboard, but this is not surprising, as I am the person who, when out to sushi, will eat all my pickled ginger, ask for more, and then proceed to eat all of my dates pickled ginger as well. What? He wasn’t eating it!

drank Genmaicha by DAVIDsTEA
2967 tasting notes

When Ost and I first swapped teas, she offered to share some Genmaichas, as I am what could be called a novice to this particular tea.
Today is the day I was brave enough to try one!
It smells a bit like popcorn, and I’m finally getting the whole scope of the word “toasty”. Is that actual popcorn in it?This smells toasty.
Its actually much sweeter than I expected from the smell, a bit more like caramel corn or sweet popcorn, instead of a full on toasted popcorn.
I’m enjoying it! Onward, to more Genmaichas!
Thanks to Ost

Backlogged from first thing this morning.
This is my default “I’m in a hurry,” tea. Its quick, and nearly foolproof, but still an engaging combination of flavors, which make it a good wake me up. Then its off to work.

I love tea! I confess that I was a hot chocolate lover for most of my life, but recently a switch has gone off in my brain, and suggested that I might just love tea. And I do!
I’m a bit of a novice, but an enthusiastic one, and am happily sipping new varieties all the time.
I love vanilla, fruity, and caramel flavors, and cant wait to try more.
