Because I love a theme, there was no other tea I could possibly have this morning. Winter Solstice!
It also is good that the date-significant tea is also perfect for a winter morning, as its rich, layered, spicy, but with the gorgeous note of citrus, which is lovely, and makes it all very good.
Happy Solstice! Its all longer days from here!

oof, a busy day.
A normal full workday, and then, after, a party to celebrate the birthday of my best friend! And its a potluck! So I was up extra early preparing food, and am now eagerly awaiting party time.
And, of course, it is pouring rain and I didn’t bring my rain coat (though I have boots and umbrella), so I’m a bit damp.
Its been a day, people.
I started it with this. I like this one, it smells so amazing, but I remember now that I found it a bit fiddly, and had some problems with it, namely that its delicate, and require very precise steeping. I’ll have to go back through past tasting notes to remember what worked.
But it seemed appropriate for the season, and for celebrating my friends birthday!

Tea of the late morning.
Still delicious, but still not quite as good as Christmas Tradition, I think. Hmm.
But really, nothing will stop me from drinking all the vanilla mint teas.

Mint blacks! Turns out, I’m obsessed. And holiday mint blacks are the best, because they add vanilla to the blend, and that just pushes it up into the stratosphere of awesome.
Bring me all the vanilla mint blends!
I quite like this one. Solid, not too fancy, as basic as a holiday blend can be, and its good for the mornings when you can’t focus too much on your cuppa.

Veronica

I’m a big fan of vanilla mint blends, too. Yum!

Fjellrev

Me too, love vanilla mint. :)

Things that are not problems include rainy weather, and many, many delicious holiday teas to drink.
Perfection.

My internet was down this morning, which was highly annoying, but the rest of the day went well.
But the kettle still worked, so I brewed up tea.
I probably did not need both this and Christmas Tradition but…. well….. I can’t pass up a peppermint black, I guess. Even though they look, at a quick glance, very similar (minus popcorn). Would there be a difference?
So! Nice, minty, smooth, and with a delicate touch of vanilla, but not as good as Christmas tradition, in my mind. I can’t quite suss out why Tradition is better than Bark, but who cares!
I still enjoy this, and won’t have a problem drinking it down. Yay, peppermint black teas!

When I opened the bag of this one I had to say “wowza”. It smells so, so much like actual nog, its absurd.
Much heartened, as I love nog but hate the callories, I brewed it up.
This one does, I must say, smell richer and better than it tastes. It does have taste of creaminess, but it smells more noggy than it tastes.

Kittenna

Definitely smells more noggy than it tastes!

My parents, who are devoted coffee drinkers, will go into the local Peets for their beans. When you get beans, you also get a free cup of coffee or tea, and if my parents don’t want the free beverage, they get an IOU and pass it off to me.
This means I get some lovely free tea cards, which are great on a rainy lunch break.
I should have got a black tea, but wanted something that I did not have to fuss over, so I got this.
I never really do know what I think of this one. Suitable, does its job, but does not particularly stick in your mind.

Perhaps a good resolution would be to quit drinking new teas when I’m flying at high speeds in the morning.
Up extra early and off to the races, and by races I mean taking the boyfriend into school early, as he has finals. He’ll be delighted to be done with school, and so will I. Of course, I’d be delighted if he got his car repaired, so he could take himself in, but still….
Impression is favorable, but a lot more tasting is needed. Did I get chocolate and fruit here? And not just the fruits more classically blended with chocolate, like cherries or strawberries. I felt like it was something more interesting than that.
More is required to be sure. Hmmm.

I love tea! I confess that I was a hot chocolate lover for most of my life, but recently a switch has gone off in my brain, and suggested that I might just love tea. And I do!
I’m a bit of a novice, but an enthusiastic one, and am happily sipping new varieties all the time.
I love vanilla, fruity, and caramel flavors, and cant wait to try more.
