2967 Tasting Notes
I can see that this is going to be a two pot problem tea. First feeling is positive, if a little weak. I’m not getting the rose, but I can get a hint of strawberry.
This may need more leaf to brew up properly. This has got the promise of being a rich tea, and perhaps the cup of chocolatty goodness that I have been looking for, but more experimentation is needed.
Tonights seasonally inappropriate tea is this cup of Gingerbread Spice. I love Gingerbread, which was almost certainly what prompted me to buy this in the first place.
The smell is right, I’ll give it that, but its weak tea. This is something I keep finding with Celestial Seasonings, that the smell is right, but the flavor doesnt live up to the promise of the aroma.
Too bad.
This isnt quite what I was expecting.
The dry leaf smells amazing, rich and exactly like salted caramel.
The taste, once brewed up, is a little bit of a burnt taste, with a vaugly coffee like aftertaste. A bit of a problem, as I dont like coffee.
I will tinker with the steeping times, because I’d really like to love this tea.
Another tea that I think will come into its own in the autumn.
A thousand thanks to Fuzzy_Peachkin for the packets of this.
Cinnamon and Rose? What a facinating combination, I’ve never heard of anything like it.
First impression, upon tearing open the packet, is that this is not a subtle tea. Kablammo! Spicy cinnamon smell!
This is sweet, which surprised me, as I was expecting a spicy taste to accompany the sent of the tea.
The rose is barely detectable, but you do certainly get the cinnamon. The rose just adds a light note into the mix.
Not bad, and certainly not undrinkable, but not destined to become a favorite.
Thank you again Fuzzy_Peachkin!
Its hot. Its over 100 degrees. I hate summer, it makes it so hard to drink a hot cup of tea.
This is a light tea, more coconutty than rosy, with an underlying greenness too it that is not at all unpleasant. And even though I am drinking it hot, it doesnt “feel” too hot for a miserable evening like this one.
Bleh. When is it autumn?
I never noticed this at davidstea before – I’m going to give it a try sometime.
