Starting to venture in to the more traditional tea zones (I still love weird blends like popcorn and dehydrated ice cream bits of course), but I want to also learn more about the bases and such. Starting with these puppies this week… So yummy!

I used my new Steeper, three pearls, filled it up with boiling water and steeped for 4.5 minutes. The jasmine is a perfect amount, engages your senses, but doesn’t smell like you opened Grandma’s perfume chest. Very lovely, drinkable. Fun to watch the pearls unravel their mysteries in the steeper. Overall, a nice start to a (hopefully) relaxing weekend.

drank Grape Expectations by DAVIDsTEA
6 tasting notes

Steeped 1.5 perfect spoonfuls for approx. 4 minutes in a mason jar (boiling). Left overnight to cool. Added ice and two healthy squirts of agave.

Yum yum yum. Watching a movie with my students this morning, and I look forward to sitting back and enjoying this while we watch.

The grape flavor was very hard to find until I added the agave, which totally brought the grape forward. It’s a light, green grape taste – not at all similar to the purple kool-aid smell it has in the dry leaf. This is another one I need to stock up on for the summer break.

drank Cool Cucumber by DAVIDsTEA

Brewed this with hot water, and chilled overnight for a nice morning pick-me-up. In the AM, I added ice and agave.

When I got to work and started drinking this, I couldn’t stop. The mint and cucumber flavor infusion was fantastic. This is one to stock up on for a refreshing summer treat. I just picture sitting on the balcony, reading a book, enjoying the breeze and the city skyline while I sip this down all summer-afternoon long…. Yum.

drank Honey Bee by DAVIDsTEA

This is the first mate tea I’ve enjoyed, after trying quite a few at Davids. Very sweet and yummy, nice flavor for year around.
Had it with natural agave, perfect.

Wonderful seasonal sweet tea. Warm and sugary, with just a hint of figs. Use three teaspoons per mug, twice the recommended amount, to get a full body flavor.
