15061 Tasting Notes
I’m not a fan of oolongs as a general rule, but i do love pear. Nicole sent this one my way to try as such. Dry, this smells amazing..love it. Brewed up however is a different story. This is too floral for me, but when i DO get the pear flavour for that split second, it’s amazing. I just wish that this was on a green tea base or a black base lol thanks for the share nicole! :)
this is my poor black tea base substitute for after dark. sigh while i DO enjoy this one, i always wish it was after dark when i have it lol It’s got a good thing going with it’s vanilla and ginger and cocoa…cardamom. I need to try this as a latte because i think that would really make the flavours even more awesome. :)
I need to find my samples form you & Nicole. Last thing I remember they were on my desk, & I know they are somewhere in my office, but things got a little crazy over the last week or so…
Haha yeah you do and yes they did! I’m making breakfast and drinking puerh! Only 10 more hrs to stay awake lol
what i have successfully concluded after a few cups of this tea is that i don’t like it in a travel mug. There’s something about this tea that begs for a giant ceramic mug….something to wrap my hands around and feel the warmth while i savour this one. Because i DO like it..but it’s not a brew for anyone who likes meek teas. This one says HAAALLOOOOOO in a deep booming voice. it’s great. :)
I picked this one up and the other 2 in the series last time i was in chicago for tea bag options when travelling. I had only had rocket fuel at that point so it was a bit of a gamble but they were on sale lol. I had this tonight in an effort to try and sample all the teas in my cupboard. Still working on my 6 month goal, but i also want to make sure i’m trying the new teas before they’re “old” :) This one wasn’t bad..but it wasn’t as yum as rocket fuel. the flavours just sort of blended into a fruity sort of tea that wasn’t distinctly anything in particular. didn’t hate it though, and that’s saying much given my dislike for a lot of adagio teas.
Not sleeping tonight, but technically final count: 107
i had this earlier tonight and was really disappointed. There’s something in here which reminded me of artificial sweetner…which is weird because when i’ve had this before it wasn’t like that. I’m going to withold changing my rating and have this a couple more times to see if i just managed to do something weird. I’ll be upset if i just don’t like this anymore since i did recently buy it while in chicago because i loved it!
I’ve been drinking this tea most of the day. I’m trying to get down to 100 this weekend but i’m trying to get through at least a couple of my puerh samples since i’m always super neglectful about drinking them. I’ve got an overnight tonight, so i figured i was safe to drink a few puerhs since if they kept me up, it wasn’t a bad thing haha
This was a sample sent to my by misty peaks and i’m grateful for the chance to try it out. I don’t have much to say about this, beyond the fact that i’d consider buying a cake of this. :) It was a really enjoyable experience and just tied the day together. there was a sweetness… just.yum.
this is a nice darjeeling! Thanks nicole. :) I don’t really love darjeelings. But there are a few in this world that i can get behind. This is one of them. This is a smooth darjeeling, with just a little sweetness going on here that i’m enjoying. Passing the little cup’s worth that’s left to Cavo since she might enjoy this one. :)
I had this tea once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away. This one was shared with me by boychik, via terri :)
I’m happy for the chance to try this nearly 2 years later in case my tastes have changed. Again, this is a cup of coconut, vanilla oolong. Is it bad? Nope. But is is a tea for me that would conquer my general dislike of oolongs? hells. no. I enjoyed this cup, but as a non fan of oolongs, there are other teas that i’d rather have :) appreciate the share though as you never know how your tastes can change!
not a bad cup of tea…but i vastly prefer stacy’s. Not sorry to finish this one up, since i find that this one loses it’s flavours once opened…though that’s in part because of me heh. An enjoyable cup of pineapple tea…but man, i really am going to miss stacy’s version :(
you obviously prefer the heavily oxidized Oolongs. I remember you loved some I sent you.Pear is a flavour I love to get on an oxidized base for sure.
yes..roasty, oxidised oolongs are what i prefer (butiki has a few green oolongs i really love though…) but on the whole, i just don’t love oolongs.
Pear is so damn tricky. Forsman makes a pear sencha but not sure if you’d even like that one either. It was quite artificial-tasting.
Thank you so much for your feedback, Sil! If you’d like to try a similar blend on a green tea base, we do blend a Pear Tree Green: http://www.tealeaves.com/organic-pear-tree-green.
It’s been so popular over the years that we’ve added a classic teabag version, as well as a Pear Green iced tea blended to be at its best when chilled.
thanks for the heads up…i’ll have to see. Green>oolongs imo haha
