9065 Tasting Notes
NOMs. i needed something lighter than the other teas i’ve been having. Funnily enough, most of the teas today have been “heavier” imo. So i pulled this one out for dinner. I’ll be sad when this one is gone from my cupboard, but i’m almost ready to take a break from it for a while until my tastebuds have a chance to forget it’s deliciousness. :)
Final Count: 121
I feel like the rest of you got a different tea that i did. this is the second time i’ve had it, and the second time i’ve let the sink finish it. I can see the coconut in the blend and there was a single chunk of banana. but brewed, this is just honeybush..with a dash of coconut..leading to a giant pile of ICK for me. Great that it was a free sample in my package to offset a lighter weighted tea…but i’d rather have the other tea. blech.
this will forever be referred to as banana upsidedown coconut barf monster just for omgsrsly Sorry Liberteas! i’m glad it’s working for other folks haha. Can’t win them all.
Vanilla. Grapefruit….mint? I had to try this one when i saw it because it’s not a typical pairing, at least as far as i’ve tried. Mint and grapefruit. weird. this is peppermint. and grapefruit. and somehow works. I think the mint could be dialled back just a teeeeeny bit, but on the whole i like how the mint and the tartness work together. I’m not sure this feels like ethereal noise pop? (whatever that is..) but i do like this blend.
This was a tea from August Uncommon that i wasn’t certain about. I don’t mind anise, but i don’t LOVE it – it always depends on how it’s used. Everything else about this tea was something i thought i’d like. Once brewed, this IS a delicious tea, though i’d probably subtract the anise. It’s not overpowering and doesn’t have that sickeningly sweet taste to the brew, but it’s there enough that it takes away a little from the amaretto and orange. I do like the rooibos used in this blend – it’s not that harsh woody rooibos that i really don’t like. overall, another good blend from AU, though i’d love it more sans anise. :)
review from NEW 52 teas.
I am a fan of this one. It won’t top my list of mint chocolate teas ever, but it’s a good one. What is particularly appealing to me is the use of spearmint. There never seems to be enough mint chocolate spearmint teas. this is like winter to me..that sensation when you brush your teeth and then suck cold air in to your mouth… only not as intense because of the white chocolate which smooths things out a little. Yep. I’ll enjoy my little sampler or this one.
i picked this one up without trying it in my august uncommon order because of the description: Feels Like: morning in an old library i hate descriptions like this…how does that tell me what the tea is like? yeah it doesn’t. until you drink it..and then you’re like OMG i get it!!! i love libraries and reading…and i am super happy with this tea. Dry, this smells like delicious chocolate and guiness. brewed there’s a slight amaretto/marzipan taste underlying the chocolate. i love this one. I love it slightly less than the passage du desire, but this is still a great tea imo. Different, smooth..soo nice.
God i love this tea. It smells like caramel and smoke and bourbon and amazing ness. I forgot to add a little maple to this cup as i really think that would make it extra delicious. That being said, i don’t NEED it in this tea to enjoy it. It’s just a really artful blending of
smokey, without being too smokey.
I figured i’d have another cup of this before sending the rest over to omgsrsly to try. I am digging this one more and more. today i’m getting more of the juniper and lemon balm along with the thyme. I certainly is an interesting experience and i am looking forward to seeing what the future holds with these august uncommon teas.
mmmmmm noms. this is much more the strawberry black that i hoped the lamington one would be. not that i needed the lamington one to be strawberry black, i just wanted more strawberriness to it. i found it here. I also think the vanilla in this one does a great job os smoothing things out and making this feel like a strawberry cake. In other words. NOM
hmmmm this tea is much more like a cinnamon black to me. There’s a subtle element here that almost makes me think cookie, but it’s not super strong. What i think is a little funny about most of the new 52 teas i have is that the instructions for all of them basically say, wait to drink these. IE. when they’re piping hot, they won’t have the right balance of flavours. Not a big deal for me since i often forget to drink my teas right away but seems funny to think about. Overall, still enjoying this one.
