Pulled this one out to try. I had picked this one up because it had a really nice orange smell to the dry leaf. Sadly brewed, this doesn’t taste like much, so next time i’ll try a 5 min steep.

mmm bumping the rating up on this one a little. this is like baked apple goods, minus the cinnamon and vanilla ice cream. lol I am a fan of this today, especially since the tea i had it with, was in contrast lacking in flavour. :)

YUM! bumping the rating up a little since this is from the stash i picked up while in paris and is JUST the thing i want in summer – fresh, fruity and sweet. This is a great blend of canteloupe and peach…with the peach being more in the background, which is perfect for me these days as i’m “off” peach. I need to try cold brewing this next to see how that turns out as i’ve love for this to be a good cold brew tea for the summer.

drank Lime Marshmallow by Butiki Teas

I rarely take greens to work because they cool off to quickly or just aren’t rich enough for what i want at work. So i try to get around to them on the weekends when i have more time to enjoy them. This one seems to be losing some of it’s flavour since i last had it. It’s almost more marshmallow than lime. I’m hoping it’s just the leaf that ended up in my pot this time.

thank you beelicious this is an intriguing brew. I think it falls in to the category of not for me, but this is unique enough that i’m SUPER glad to have tried it. there’s a cooked bread, artichoke feeling to this one…i almost feel like i should be adding a pinch of salt to it..it feels much more like i should be eating this rather than drinking it lol.

thanks for sharing beelicious….it’s a unique tea, just not for me haha but for sure interesting to taste.

Sample from Beelicious Sadly this one is a miss for me, if only because it just tastes like a roasty oolong. I’m not really getting a feeling of there being any blending happening with this. It’s just a green-er looking oolong that tastes somewhere in the middle of a green oolong and and really roasty one lol. It’s not a BAD cup of tea…it’s got a smooth finish to it, but in the grand scheme of things, it’s not worth 20$ shipping haha

I’ve been really curious about that one since I love Oolongs, specifically Dan Congs, Milk Oolongs, and Greener High Mountains. The website’s description is a bit florid and I have no clue what this actually tastes like other than what you’ve described. Petrichor is something that I can imagine, but it’s also really abstract. Does it have the chocolate orchid quality it talks about or is that just over description? I wonder because I’ve been half tempted to buy it, but the shipping even in the U.S. is steep.

Sil

for me it just tasted like a roasty oolong. no other real notes beyond that familiar oolong taste. not helpful i know :(

Daylon R Thomas

Oh well. I at least know not to buy it if it’s typical. But I do have another recommendation question: is the Passage du Desir a more malty, bitter black tea, or a sweeter one because of its flavors? I drink black teas straight and like them pretty sweet. Again, I ask because it’s on discount and half tempted to get some.

Sil

it’s not SUPER sweet, but i don’t find it bitter. I never add sugar to my teas though? if you’ve never ordered from them you can get 10$ using my referral code if that helps take the shipping sting out? http://augustuncommontea.refr.cc/GJPHDLM

Sil

i mean…nearly everyone that’s tried it has enjoyed it that i’ve shared it with haha

Daylon R Thomas

Awesome! Thank you so much. Now do I want a sample or 100 grams lol

So sad to see this one go. It really was a nice bold, creamy, mint like tea. I would take this off anyone’s hands if they don’t love it.

mmmm thank you beelicious This is a really nice malty, vanilla, breakfast tea. I am a fan! There isn’t much else to say about it beyond the fact that it’s just a really decent offering from T2. Someday i’ll get back to Oz so that i can tea shop there too! haha

tea bags from paris – thought i might as well try some of these today since i need to get my cupboard down. I’m not really a fan of this one. I’m not generally a fan of ceylons BUT there are a few that folks here have shown me some really great ceylons, so i try to keep an open mind. Sadly, this one is relatively unexciting and a little boring

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
