8874 Tasting Notes
i have a bunch of catching up to do regarding tea but since this is what i had today and is a sipdown, i figure it was worth mentioning tonight…the rest can come later! I had an excellent weekend away, we drove through 5 states, saw some friends, enjoyed spending time together in the car and came home lol. I’m sad this one is gone because i really like it cold brewed, steeped in half apple juice but no more orders until i get my cupboard under control…and with 3 packages to pick up from mail jail tomorrow….i’m going to need some time! haha
Final Count: 149
secret bonus tea for my tea sister terri because she and i both love puerh + ginger and sichuan caravan has been out of stock FOREVER….and even though i know she probably has like 8 pounds squirreled away somewhere, this will help make that last longer lol. But i seriously wish verdant would bring it back….the original version.
Final Count: 151
i had another cold brew of this today…. half apple juice, half water. And still i love it. the sad part? Maybe one more brew of this and then i’m all out. And not allowed to buy tea yet…so i’ll have to move on to some other herbals, but it should give me an excuse to drink some that MissB sent us. soooo upside? but man..i’m going to miss this one.
i was SUPPPPEEEEEEEEEEER excited when MissB told us she had found this one in her travels. Like HOLY GET THAT PLEASE! because pineapple? yes. curry? interesting….different…YAY! As it turns out, i think this may end up being a blend that indigobloom likes…but then, maybe not lol. this one smells a great deal like pineapple something. yes. something. brewed though….i kept tasting peach. and i’m tired of peach. it was peach and then not peach and then something else…but never pineapple and not what in my head a curry tea would taste like. But it wasn’t terrible…just..not what i expected…or built in my head. and peach? bah. no peach! clearly my tastebuds are duds today.
Another tea from the magic MissB box of goodies! I have a bunch that i need to work my way through a little faster, but i just haven’t had time to settle in and take a look at them as much as i’d like. I picked out two today and did manage to drink them but that was hours ago and since then i got seriously distracted planning an epic road trip this weekend haha.
first off, i am brewing all these at a cooler temp than the instructions mention – i just can’t bring myself to do 200 for greens. Secondly…most of these are greens, which are not my favourite, but as with all teas, i’m keeping an open mind.
This one was actually pretty interesting. There was most assuredly ginger in this one…though not enough for my tastes :) it also smells a lot like one of the herbals i have from tea gschwender…but tastes nothing like it. this is lemon and ginger and a little hint of pepper…but the flavours are subtle. Too subtle for me..but still a tasty cup! thanks a bunch missB!
Sample from Angel – thank you as always for your continuous generosity. this is one of those mineral like teas for me. there’s a bit of sweetness here but mostly it’s that mineral like taste that, in roasty ooolong teas develops in to that taste that i don’t like. However, in this tea it’s pleasant…making for a very light cup. I don’t think i’d pick this one up but i’m really glad for the chance to sample it as would have been one that i would have likely ordered to try out. I see this finding it’s home with someone who likes those sort of roasty mineral like teas….though this is certainly got a sweetness to it that is very pleasant.
this was a free sample with my first streetshopp88 order. Not necessarily something i would have picked for myself, but overall this was fairly pleasant. I had a few steepings of it today and it remained a middle of the road, average sort of brew. nothing amazing about it, but nothing wrong with it either.
