15061 Tasting Notes
i picked this one up while i was in Paris because of the reviews. I’m always up for trying ceylon’s that don’t seem to be like the ceylons that i don’t like. this does not disappoint. it still has a little of that brassy note to it like a lot of ceylons, but it’s also a juicy, malty note as well. An interesting cup, glad i took a shot on it
Yeah, ceylon teas are rarely, if ever, on my list of teas that I love, but some of them are acceptable, at least.
I was just thinking that I should set a really decent sip down goal, and if I reach it by black friday I can buy tea with wild abandon, like the good old days ;)
this might be the only peach tea that have tolerance for these days. I used to adore each teas and then got sick of that particular taste. This tea, however, has a different “peach” about it. it’s more like real peach when it’s been baked. or something. it’s not that “peach drink” flavour you used to? still can? get at tim horton’s lol
Did you know they opened a Tim Horton’s less than a mile from my house? Of course, there probably isn’t anything on their menu that I could eat.
On a side note, they are opening an IKEA nearby on Sept 30th. THAT should be fun!
i pulled this one out to enjoy throughout the day today. I don’t feel like writing complex notes on it, but needless to say, i’m super glad that boychik shared this one with me so i was able to purchase some for myself. This ie one that i’ll be sharing with dexter and a few others because it’s lovely. And then…i save for a cake! :)
hmmm… i think? i prefer 1st picking to regular LB this time around. there’s almost a subdued spicy note here. it’s still my familiar LB..less cocoa like…slightly creamy… still not what it originally was but i am still enjoying this one more than last years harvest. woot woot!
I made a reasonably-sized Verdant order last night. Not like I needed new teas, but a few caught my interest (and I want to share some with a coworker!) Didn’t get the first picking LB, just the regular, but I still have some from… earlier this year, I think, so can compare the two.
I’m working from home today even though it’s going to be hot and gross because i’m exausted…and because i want to drink tea. lol I was one of those folks who was slightly disappointed in a LOT of 2014 harvests. The teas just weren’t the same and my favourites were mediocre at best in a lot of cases.
So, since my verdant order arrived this week, i figured today would be a good day to try both 1st picking LB and regular LB side by side to see how they are holding up in 2015.
when they were brewing..it smelled like my first time smelling LB, so i was pretty hopeful. 1st picking has always seemed more “earthy” or as omgsrsly puts it – dirt like, than LB. brewed, this smells more like LB of older harvests. tasting it, there’s none of that dirt like taste from previous harvests…instead this is smooth…the cocoa notes are there, though not as prominent. I am enjoying this. i think 2015>2014. It’ll be nice to try this a little later on, as i’ve found that as the teas age a bit, the flavour will change. I’m happy with this one
dear davids tea. STOP ADDING SUGAR TO YOUR TEAS. seriously..i can add my own, but also bananas are sweet…as is chocolate. i picked all the rock sugar out of this cup to make my latte and it was a much better cup – losing that cloying sweetness that was ok but not really what i ever want.
Final Count: 98
noms. pulled this one out yesterday because i always get a little worried with oolongs. I find they don’t hold their flavour as much as when they’re roasted or as well as black teas. It’s still delicious, but i can see that i’ll have to drink this up/share with friends.
You can do it !
You should be in the home stretch, right? it will all be worth it. :)
It’s gonna be a beautiful wedding, I wish I could be there. We’ll be expecting lots of pics!
2 more weekends. we’re trying to get the last of the arts and crafts done tomorrow – but today was a day off to not think about the wedding
OMG. I got wine as payment today for the demo I did. Too bad I can’t take it in my carry on…
