Going to have to agree with Nicole on this one – fairly average ceylon, great packaging (i love ephelants!). Pulled this one out this morning to get my going – our house has been a bit of a disaster area as i was away for 2 wks and my other half didn’t have time to do much. So this weekend was very much a get up, get cleaning and organising while he was at work and continue it in to the rest of the day. Hoping to get back to normal so that we can enjoy next weekend!

drank Black Currant Tisane by Travelling Tea

noms. Another adventure from my tea sister. this one is pretty tasty – a little sweet, a little sour and nicely done on the black currant front. I think i like the black berry tisane i’ve had more, but this is a very nice change from the usual fruit tisanes out there. darker and slightly mysterious…or something like that anyway haha.

Final Count: 120

Terri sent this one my way – surprising in some respects because it doesn’t seem like her cup of tea heh. The dry aroma of this one is downright amazing… creamy caramel, mocha…. noms.
Brewed (4 mins) this is a little less intense than the aroma would suggest – there’s a little of the honeybush taste that comes through, but it doesn’t interfere with the deliciousness. I think this one will be worth trying as a latte at some point as well. thankfully i’ve got more than enough to play with this, thanks to the generosity of my tea sister!

The other 2015 autumn version from my comparison today. Hot and cold this one is more up my alley than the spring 2014, however it’s not as delicious as i remember it being.

2014 harvest from Terri. I love that her box has a few same teas from different years because i can try drinking them at the same time to see which i prefer. Just makes for a fun time. This one i haven’t had, as i generally prefer autumn harvests. Hot there was a strong note to this one that sort of jarred with the overall cup….as it’s cooled, that’ lessened and it’s a smoother, more mellow , malty cup now. i still prefer the autumn 2015 harvest that i’m also drinking, but this was a decent cup :) thanks terri!

autumn for aroma, spring for taste :)

Sil

haha i find it the other way around. I vastly prefer the taste of autumn harvests for the most part.

Finally back from vacation and can start organising my tea. I finished this one up while on vacation and it was thoroughly enjoyable. I’m sure it’ll be back in my cupboard at some point.

Final August Count: 81 Weight: 4540 (about 560grams ahead of my goal! but 6 over my goal in terms of numbers….i’ll take it!)

:)

Sil

yeah well i had 3 boxes sitting on my table when i got back haha

Evol Ving Ness

Do you organize it by category, age, or flavour, or something else?

Sil

it’s more getting my spreadsheet updated….the actual physical cupboard i’ll do on the weekend. I have a sample area…then it’s pretty much a shelf for unflavoured blacks, a shelf for flavoured blacks, one for “overflow”/to be opened later, one for herbals….one for puerh…

Evol Ving Ness

Shocking that you manage to fit in a full-time job, Sil. :)

I am starting to think that tea needs special furniture at my place too.

Sil

i have an ikea bookcase (kallax is the new one) and have put a couple baskets in 2 of the squares that hold my “tea shipping” stuff, so envelopes, tea waiting for pick up from friends, waiting to go out etc… 3 squares have doors on them for my puer and to keep some of the mess tucked away. 3 are open for nicer tins to be visible. then there’s a shelf in the living room that has my tea pots/cups etc on display.

Evol Ving Ness

Wow, just wow. A sensible approach, far more sensible than the small c chaos going on here. I recall a thread here with tea people posting their tea storage arrangements. So many approaches to this. Thank you for sharing, Sil.

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
