15061 Tasting Notes
someone else wrote up a great review of the tea launch that i had the fortune of attending while i was in Paris.

The tea that was launched was this one, and i realised today that i hadn’t logged that i’d had it. I know Ysaurella also had an opportunity to sample it.I’d gone because while at the store, i was told that this was a pear tea that would be launched. What they failed to tell me was that it was also PEACH. Sadly while it was a really nicely blended tea…it was way more peach than pear. Even my other half, upon smelling it, remarked that it smelled entirely of peaches. Still though, if you’re a fan of oolongs and peach – this is a lovely creation from the o dor.
I blame other people for the fact that i’m now obsessed with finding good pear teas. Sadly, it’s one of those flavours that is really hard to find, and is almost always blended with other teas. this particular tea is not only JUST pear…but it’s good. and not a green tea. haha I feel like the perfect pear tea IS likely a green tea but a black pear tea is better for me. Easier for me to drink and less hard to ruin…especially when created by a company like MF. not only does this smell like pear, but the after taste of pear lingers and makes me happy. Because it’s a black base though, it’s not as sweet as it feels like a pear tea should be…but I could certainly try adding a little sweetner in the future. overall a win!
You don´t know if you know it, but Lupicia has a green tea with pear, pear and honey. It smelled interesting!
I’ve been trying to get my hands on that one for about a year now. every time i try to place an order with lupicia online, it’s sold out. So i’ll keep trying haha
They did have it in stock! But it´s life – I was really planning to make it to Theodor but there was a problem in the metro line at the only convenient opportunity window, I was actually inside the carriage had to get out of the metro and find another plan to be able to keep to my schedule. Some other time.
I think the shop was not too big, there were some lupicia teas I had tried before that they did not carry – though difficult to compare because the tea names were translated into french (LOL I was look for Jardin Sauvage and Chaud les Marrons, wonder if they would have translated that into english!)
Back in my cupboard and still an enjoyable cup of tea! It’s nice to have something that isn’t PEACH flavoured as i’ve been off of “peach” for a while now and apricot is just a nice change.
soooo this tea is inspired by the dessert…which, for those of you who don’t know, is like a vnailla chestnut flavoured decadence. I can see how this tea is reminiscent of that….though there’s a note to this that doesn’t sit well with me. thankfully the tea base itself isn’t terrible so it’s still a decent cup of tea. It will just never be my favourite when i think of all the other teas i have or could have hahaha
For a company that does divine hot chocolate…they need to work on their idea of what a chocolate tea is. Smells like flowers….looks like lots of pretty flowers….tastes like…
chocolate FLOWERS. blaaaah. this would be kinda decent without the flowers. I’m thinking that this is going to be making it’s way out west haha Nice enough blend but for sure not a tea for ME
cocoa, caramel, vanilla…hmmm This is SUPER delicate and might actually warrant a 5 mins steep, so i’ll try that next. I can taste the cocoa and vanilla…the caramel might be what’s contributing to the slight muting of those flavours but overall it’s still a smooth blend that lets the base shine through. I have a suspicion that if i let this steep a little longer it might be spot on. Things to try for next time! :)
Again with the different sort of vanilla. I didn’t realise that this was a darjeeling blend but i DO enjoy the subtlties of this one. I only steeped this for 3 mins, though Laduree seems to want all their blacks to be steeped for 5 mins. I will have no problems finishing this one off as it’s a really smooth vanilla blend, with the base teas coming through nicely.
tea from this morning. Delicious and wonderful. Almost through the last of this but not for a few more cups :)
While i am still enjoying this tea, i think i like it less than i used to. There’s something about the blending of the spices that i’m just “over.” That doesn’t make the tea any less delicious, it’s just not really for me anymore.
