Ok, for honesty’s sake, i will preface this by saying that I have been drinking for a couple of hours now. Also, I’m a lightweight when it comes to alcohol. PS – I’m at home, not driving, so don’t worry!

Ok – hubs made coffee and put some of my amaretto in it, and it smelled soooo good, so I had to try it with tea. I made pot of Black Dragon Pearls.

Before pouring, I added sugar and half & half to my cup, whipped it into a froth, poured into my amaretto, and then tea and…

OH MY GODDESS….

This is the best thing ever!

It kinda tastes like marshmallows. and it’s gooood. Yum!

I love amaretto in iced coffee, so I know I’m going to have to try that! Hmmm, I wonder if we actually have any amaretto at the moment…

Had a hot cuppa this morning when I woke up. But it was getting hot outside, so I iced down the rest and drank it on the back porch while doing maintenance on my spinning wheel and listening to Adele. That made for a nice early afternoon!

I definitely will try this over ice again, though I don’t have a whole lot left. Will have to try the other Assam I have from A&D iced as well.

drank White Peach by Adagio Teas
330 tasting notes

I am out of half & half, so my morning latte is unattainable. So I went rummaging through my stash, and dug up this sample. There was just enough for a small pot, so I am finishing it off. Yay, stashdown!

The tea itself was pretty light this morning, and actually pretty good. Not astringent, mild on both the vegetal tones and the peach isn’t too artificial. I was much more careful with my water temp this morning, so I think it brewed up pretty optimally.

I doubt I will ever order more of this, but I would like to try a few other white teas.

drank Rose Green Tea by Kusmi Tea
330 tasting notes

Dangit. I really should have converted the Celcius on the package to Fahrenheit. I used water too hot for this tea. It shows. It’s astringent and not tasty.

I want to like rose tea, but I never seem to have good luck with it.

I just have the one teabag that was sent as a sample with one of my Kusmi orders, so I can’t even try again.

I need something to wake me up slowly this morning, so this tea, of the ones in my stash at work, this fit the bill. I like that it’s pretty subtle for a Christmas tea, so I don’t really feel weird drinking it “out of season.”

My throat is kind of sore after last night’s drinking and talking loudly with friends. So I thought I would give this a try. I have a small tin of it from Kusmi’s wellness sampler.

I get what another reviewer said about it having a cigarette flavor/smell. It’s not overwhelming in my cup though. I think I might try steeping for a shorter time next pot – I set it to steep and then folded a load of clothes, so it is a bit strong. I was unsure of the water temp since green tea wants cooler vs boiling for herbs. I went with 190. As a result, I think the mate is overwhelming everything else. I get just a hint of lemongrass.

So shorter time, cooler water next time I think, and I want to try it iced.

Bio

When I was a very young child, I swallowed an ice cube whole. It got stuck in my throat, and my mother had me drink hot tea to melt it away. That started a love affair with tea that has never abated.

I dabbled with Celestial Seasonings and other grocery store teabags for awhile, in my young and foolish days. But a few years ago, I received a tea of the month subscription from Adagio, and I found that there was a whole other world of tea out there that I had never experienced.

I love drinking tea, and I love the personal ceremony of making a glass or pot of tea for myself. It’s like a meditation.
