I am always impressed by teas such silver needle and this Oriental beauty that drastically depart from what I grew up thinking how tea tasted. Early on there is a definite floral almost Roses flavor to the tea. It reminded me of This one blend of black tea my friend bought from England that was blended with rose.

I first tasted this in the 2017 24 days of tea advent calendar. I spilled some of the leaf going to make my second cup. (Ugh.) It was great though. I love this flavored oolong. I think the lemon flavor has the right level and it feels like the liquid equivalent to eating an excellent Lemon frosted pound cake. I eventually bought another 2 oz. It steeps twice; the first steep for 4 to 7 minutes and 10 minutes for the second steep. I used a Davidstea tea bag an Perfect spoon for measuring. One other reviewer compared it to a processed store bought Lemon Pound cake. That is true. If you don’t like that in your face artificial flavor then this isn’t for you. But if you could eat Emerson’s pastries all day long then you might like this. I do.

Flavors: Artificial, Lemon, Lemongrass

An excellent sencha with a smooth taste. I can typically still get a nice second steep out of the leaves.

I am having trouble describe this greee tea. It has a less sweet flavor than DavidsTeas Sencha Ashikubo but still has a vegtal grass flavor. That aftertaste is more pleasant than the initial taste. It holds up for several steepings. I would reccomend this tea if you like green tea but I think Sencha Ashikubo is better.

Flavors: Grass, Vegetal

So, I am coming to the end of my David’sTea Advent calendar. Today’s tea is English Toffee. I have found that I find their sweeter and darker teas to be some of the best (or their chocolates/spice ones) I think because some of the natural ingredients help the artificial flavors stand up better. That is the casee with this black tea toffee tea. It has a nice flavor and goes well with the black tea that it id mixed with. I shall try a second steeping later this afternoon and see if it steeps a second time well.

Flavors: Caramel, Toffee

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 45 sec 3 tsp 14 OZ / 400 ML

It had a slight mango and bergamomnt flavor but it was very light. The smell was more over powering than the taste which was underwhelming.

David’s Tea Advent Day 1: I must start off my saying that I had already bought 4 oz of this for a friend and housemate. I am so glad I did. When I tasted this tea for the Advent Calendar sample, I was impressed. First, it is a wonderful combination of mint and chocolate flavors. Its almost like an Andes candy in a glass. It also steeps at least twice (2 × 500 mL pots). And still has a decent combination of chocolate and mint. It really puts up a challenge to the Mint Chocolate tea from Harney and Sons except that one is a black tea.

Flavors: Chocolate, Mint

Preparation
Boiling 4 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 17 OZ / 500 ML

My first Davids Tea, Snow Day, day 1 of Advent Calendar sampler kit. I am a black tea with milk kinda gal, so this is taking my tea tasting in a completely different direction. Interesting, chocolatey , mint experience.

You might like Davidstea Hot Chocolate (its a chocolate and PuErh tea blend) then also.
