Thanks goes out to boychik for sharing a large sample with me!

I had a bit of insomnia last night. The brain gets churning and all the relaxation techniques in the world sometimes just don’t do the trick. So, I did what I am not suppose to do when I can’t sleep, drank caffeine and watched the boob tube. I know, I should stick with caffine free warm drinks and I should do house chores instead, but oh well.

Boychik sent along so many Darjeeling to try. This is the first of many. This was very nice. It was medium bodied. The first part of the sip was sweet followed by a hint of fruit, and then a musky finish. This is only my second or third Darjeeling and I am not sure how to describe them yet. As I work my way through these Darjeeling I am interested to fully understand what taste profile defines a Darjeeling and what sets them apart. For now this was an enjoyable cup!

I started drinking tea while on a 4 month long cycling trip through South America. It seemed to always be a great way to warm up when I was cold and it was always available everywhere. Mate was the big tea of choice down there and it was also a great way to get to know people. When I returned home, my sister introduced me to Teavana and this launched me into the realm of loose leaf tea.
