606 Tasting Notes
I’ve been trying more matchas and I keep hoping I will like them, but I honestly don’t. It’s just my own personal tastes I think. I found this one to just be… not my thing I guess is the only way I can think to put it. I don’t know if it was the mocha flavouring or the grassyness or maybe the combo? But for me it just didn’t work.
I really liked the vanilla matcha, but haven’t found another one that I like. Maybe some day I’ll find one.
My cup of this one went bitter on me. I’m not too sure why. Thankfully it was only the tiniest bit, but still I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to finish it. I think if I had steeped this one up for 2 minutes it would have been better. I’m going to have my last two spoons as iced I think.
So, I am re-reviewing this tea. I gave it a 34 last time. I am HUGELY increasing my rating now. I feel it deserves a 65 now. I am really enjoying this tea this time around. It is a lovely chocolatey tea with a hint of the orange fruitiness. I really like it. I also am noticing some earthiness to it, but no fishiness like I said I got last time. I have enough to try it iced so that will probably happen in the next few days. I think I would love to try this one as a latte too.
It’s amazing now much a person’s tastes can change over time.
I totally hear you. I have officially renounced my hatred of hibiscus; I believe the reason I hated it so much before was because I always drank it hot and oversteeped and overleafed. I’ve been drinking it cold, mixed with weaker herbals and am careful about the steeping time and I don’t mind it.
Only tried a small sample of this one earlier tonight. It was SO good! I was so surprised that I loved it! The last time I had a matcha it was like drinking a cup of liquid grass. I hated it, but this one is so great! It was a sweet vanilla flavour that was so smooth. Yum Yum!! I would definitely make myself one of these again!
Not 100% sure if I’ve had this one before or not.. tonight I had it as an iced tea and it was really good! I would probably sweeten it next time, but either way, it was a great fruity tea with a hartness from hibiscus.
Enjoyed it, but not for me on a constant basis.
I am VERY surprised by this one. Years ago, Davidstea did a Cherry Cola tea that I very much didn’t like. Today, I’m trying this one hoping it tastes nothing like that one. And I’m very glad to say that it doesn’t taste like it at all.
This cherry tea is so good! I am getting a very nice cherry flavour that isn’t tart but rather nice and sweet. I know there’s a bit of licorice root in this one which always makes me nervous, but this time it’s hard to even really notice any real licorice flavour. It’s just lovely cherry goodness.
I can’t wait to try this one as a teapop!!
