28 Tasting Notes
A very nice tea for its price, has a very nice sweet vanilla/cocoa aroma. First couple of steeps brew up rather sweet. It balances out nicely after the first few steeps, was able to steep this quite a few times. Would definitely make a good daily drinker, although I didn’t really enjoy the first few steeps.
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Vanilla, Wood
Preparation
This is one of my daily drinkers its everything I’d want out a shou pu’erh around this price half about half of a cake left and hopefully I can find something similar to replace it with. It brews up really smooth and dark has a decent balance of sweet and earth flavors. With I higher leaf to water ratio I am able to bring out quite strong flavors.
Flavors: Earth, Sweet, Vanilla
Preparation
Brews up quite dark with a very pleasant up front sweetness along with notes of earth and a bit of smokiness. I’d say its a good tea to brew in larger amounts, its smooth and easy to drink would be good for someone newer to pu’erh.
Flavors: Chocolate, Earth, Smoke, Sweet
Preparation
A very pleasant green tea very aromatic, brews up quite light. Tastes surprisingly strong for its color super smooth and grassy, with a lingering sweet after taste. Experienced a tad of bitterness/astringency after the first brew but nothing too extreme. Overall just a really good green tea would probably be good for an everyday sort of tea.
Flavors: Grass, Sweet, Umami
Preparation
Overall its just really has a really nice pleasant earthy taste exactly what I would expect from a shu, also very smooth and easy to drink. Seems very consistent tasting for each of the brews and liquor is a nice clear brown color. Not really much else to mention but when I think of shu pu’erh the taste of tea would be the ideal taste I would think of.
Flavors: Earth, Paper, Sweet, Wet Rocks
