249 Tasting Notes
I really like this one but have a couple of instinctual things against it. It is a nice basic green tea with juicy citrus notes. The scent of it, though, is very odd – a weird combo of Froot Loops (or maybe Apple Jacks?) and soap. It is both a wonderful fragrance and slightly off-putting to me, so I’m somewhat indecisive. I do enjoy the flavor quite a bit, I would say it’s more juicy orange than biting bergamot, but I’m personally fine with that. If you like the idea of Earl Grey but often not the reality, I bet you’d like this one.

I just realized I never reviewed this one! I absolutely adore it, it’s so cozy and mysterious at the same time – like I’m in a cabin with a crackling fire under a down quilt, in woods that are friendly yet a little bit scary. It’s wonderful if you have a cold or sore throat, but lovely at other times as well. I wish he still made this one, as I just made my last cup and my son stole it from me.
Flavors: Lemon, Resin
Preparation
There’s something very comforting and happy and warm about this tea. It is mildly tart without being sour, with nice spice underlying it. The tea base is strong but not at all bitter or astringent. A little sugar or sweetener definitely brings out the flavors more. It’s not necessarily refined and fancy, but very solid and cozy.

I can’t really decide if I like this one or not. It isn’t overly sweet to me, nor do I get any chocolate flavor – so it’s not “s’mores” to me. (I do get a chocolate scent, just very, very little flavor.) There is definitely a toastiness from a graham cracker note, and I do get marshmallow. I really find I have to overleaf this one pretty dramatically, so I haven’t tried it with milk yet as that requires it to be that much stronger. It would probably be good if you just flat out brewed it in hot milk, though. I like it at the level of sweetness it has, but if I wanted to truly emulate a s’mores flavor, I’d add a bit more sugar and definitely more chocolate. It’s still warm and comfy and dessert-y, just not s’mores. Given how much tea I have to use to make it, it’s pretty expensive for a tea that is just OK.

Oooh, I quite like this! I had it straight up with just a little sweetener. I think it’s probably kind of a weak chai to add milk to, but I’m willing to try it. I get a nicely balanced chai, with a coconut sweetness and a pepper zing – just enough to give it a little tingle, it’s not spicy per se. The sweet and spicy balance well, and I really am enjoying this. I don’t generally choose rooibos, so this is a nice surprise. I can enjoy this in the evening when I’m craving spice but not caffeine!
Flavors: Cinnamon, Coconut, Peppercorn
Preparation
This has a gentleness to it, but still somehow rather juicy. It is kind of ambiguously fruity, but doesn’t have that dried, pruny flavor that fruit blends sometimes have – this is more the fresh, apple base with definite chamomile and peach tones. I am not a chamomile lover but it works fine in this tea. I tend to cold brew it and serve it well chilled, which brings out the refreshing notes. I probably won’t rebuy, but I still enjoyed the entire package. (I like Peach Bellini by them much more.)
Flavors: Apple, Peach
Preparation
This is a nice blend, very strongly spicy to give you a lift but without the caffeine. I think it’s pretty nicely balanced and has no artificial taste to it. No “softness” to the flavor, it smacks you in the face. A lot of chais disappoint me by tasting weak or watery – this one doesn’t in the slightest and has good body to it. However, I personally can’t stand it, as it has a distinct anise flavor. It isn’t too strong, and if you like anise, it’s kind of a nice twist on the usual cinnamon, etc. I just happen to loathe anise, so…

There is a smoky, resinous feel to this tea, although it still retains a light feel. It almost makes me think of eucalyptus, but in a really nice way, not a medicinal one. It’s not my absolute favorite from this company, but since most of my all-time faves come from here, that’s not an insult. :)
OK, I don’t know what’s up with my bag, but I swear it tasted like coffee with a faint hint of chocolate. 3/3 of my family thought it was coffee, not tea. My daughter thought that was great, as a mochaccino (sp?) lover. However, I loathe coffee so off it goes.
