10 Tasting Notes
I’ve decided to give this tea a rating of 100, something I haven’t done before. This is one of if not the best teas I have ever had.
I decided to brew it gong fu style. The first steeps had a strong aroma and taste of citrus and pineapple, but later steeps gave way to a subtle “wheat bread” sort of grain flavor. Every cup was delicious, and I drank till the leaves died.
Flavors: Citrus, Grain, Pineapple
I first received this tea as a freebie in an order from White2Tea. This curious little ball comes individually wrapped in paper and tied shut with a short length of twine. The leaves are stuck together pretty tight, but come apart after a long rinse and about a minute of leaving it in a steaming gaiwan. The tea is very pleasant with a slight richness that I enjoy.
The taste alone is nice, but what I love the most about this tea is the way it makes me feel. I’ve never had a tea that makes me more tea drunk than this one. I usually feel like dancing after I drink this tea.
Between the fun presentation, tastiness, and the good mood it will set you in, this is truly a wonderful tea. I highly recommend trying it, and at just under 2 dollars, it’s worth adding on to any w2t order you make in the future to try it out.
This tea is truly wonderful. The leaves themselves are gorgeous, with silver coated apple pieces and pine needles. The taste is floral at first followed with a bite of fresh pine. I definitely recommend this tea.
Flavors: Floral, Jasmine, Pine, Smooth
I just ordered this from Liquid Proust, and I couldn’t be happier. It didn’t come with brewing instructions so I followed my instincts and managed to make a perfect brew at 195 degrees Fahrenheit, for 40 seconds. The leaves are aesthetically pleasing, like little dark brown rolled up leaves. The scent of the liquor is warm and inviting. The liqour tastes smooth and rich, with a wonderful roasted flavor. I would recommend this tea to anybody who enjoys roasted oolongs.
Flavors: Roasted, Smooth
I brewed this tea according to the paramters given on their website. This is quite a nice tea. To me the taste that I first notice is somewhat roasty, before giving away to a bit of a mild vegetal taste. The whole sip is smooth, sweet, and has a vaguely creamy feel in the mouth. All in all quite a lovely tea.
This tea is truly outstanding. I got it from verdant’s five for five deal for new customers, and I’m sure I’ll be ordering some more of it. The first thing you’ll notice if you sit down with a cup of this tea will be the aroma. It smelled almost heavenly, and the scent definitely brought back memories of all the times I’ve had jasmine in my life. Sipping on the tea, the most prominent flavor would be the jasmine. It was almost like drinking a cup of flowers. The tea could also be tasted, and was certainly of a high quality. There was a surprising amount of sweetness, but not overwhelming. It was sort of like someone stirred in just the tiniest drop of honey to it. The way it felt in my mouth was almost like diluted honey as well, it was thick and smooth. There wasn’t even the slightest hint of bitterness or any other taste that could be considered unpleasant. This is certainly a tea I would reccomend, in fact it might be a new favorite of mine. I’ll certainly be ordering this with my coupon within the next handful of days.
Flavors: Flowers, Honey, Jasmine
This tea is one of the more interesting ones I’ve tried, I got it from the 5 for 5 deal on verdants site, which if you haven’t checked out you should. The first thing I tasted sipping on the first infusion was a somewhat fruity taste, which quickly gave way to the taste of grains. Altogether it almost was like drinking a fresh bowl of cereal with strawberries on top. The third infusion wasn’t as good as the first two, it tasted somewhat metallic. I think that may have been my fault as I left the leaves in my brew basket overnight. Altogether I’d say this is definitely a high quality tea, but I’m not sure if it’s one I would drink regularly. It’s surely worth trying, especially considering it comes with verdant’s amazing five teas for five dollars deal.
