16 Tasting Notes
My roommate is also an avid tea drinker so she gave me this tea from her collection. I’d say it was a pretty solid cup of tea. It was more so on the bitter side but I enjoyed it. I think it is a nice simple black tea that is caffeinated but maybe I will add honey to it next time I drink it.
Flavors: Bitter
This tea had an interesting flavor to it! The flavor reminds me of cough drops in some way, it is not the sweetest flavor in it’s natural state but I still enjoyed it. I looked up the benefits of this tea was very happy to see how healthy it is. So although it may not be a favorite I do admire it and will come back to drinking it every now and then. It was really cool to learn that this tea is a member of the Fabaceae plant family in South Africa.
Flavors: Bitter, Eucalyptus, Plants
This tea was very much needed today and delicious. I had a little later on in the day around lunch time. I think this is a good time to have it to settle the stomach before a meal but I also enjoy starting off my mornings with a cup of matcha. I used 5 scoops to make it more sweet and made had the tea at a warmer temperature.
Flavors: Earth, Sweet
Today I made the matcha tea again, this time I added some extra powder to see if I like it better that way. Yesterday I used 3 scoops and I ended up pitting in 5 today. I think I prefer it with the extra scoops because I just really like the matcha flavor. The tea wasn’t as hot today as well, I think I’m gonna make it warmer tomorrow.
Flavors: Bitter, Earth, Sweet
This tea was very delicious. It reminded me of those red hot candies, spicy with some sweet cinnamon to it. It was sweet enough without any sugar so I just drank it as it is. I steeped it for about 5 minutes and I think I’ll steep it a little longer next time so I can really taste the cinnamon some more. This would probably go really well with a cinnamon scone and some butter.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Spicy
Preparation
This tea was delicious! I am a really big fan of matcha and this tea really hit the spot. The flavor is so natural with a hint of sweetness and even some bitterness. Also it kind of smelled like plants, a earthiness to it. Using the bamboo whisk and scooping the matcha was all a very delicate and calming process. I just felt at peace the whole time. This tea is the one I choose for my Tea Ceremony I made it around 10 AM. I’m definitely a morning person so I think I’ll continue making the matcha tea around this time. It’s a really nice way to start the day.
