9 Tasting Notes
This is a solid Ripe PuErh, and definitely worth the price tag. Very Earthy, with a gorgeous liquor.
Very easy to break the cake, in fact no pick is needed. I brewed this Gong Fu style. The first infusion was of barley tone. The liquor changed to an amber on the second infusion, and than a lovely burgundy on 3+.
I can definitely see this becoming my everyday Ripe PuErh to start off each morning. It left me calm and relaxed, yet energized.
Flavors: Earthy, Hay, Smoke, Wood
Preparation
It looks like and smells like a solid green tea, but the flavor is incredibly lacking and bitter. This reminds me of coffee, and is not what I want out of an oolong. It smells of ripe leaves and fresh grass, but the taste is very astringent.
Flavors: Astringent, Bitter, Coffee
Preparation
The smell of the dry leaf does not at all reflect the taste of this white tea. The smell of dried apricots quickly ends up tasting like “dirty” laundry water.
The taste leaves a lot left to be desired, but the liquor itself is gorgeous, boasting a champagne-like color and being extremely thick.
After this taste test I am not sure that white tea is going to be for me…
Flavors: Dirt, Watery
Preparation
This is the best tea that I have ever had (so far). This ripe PuErh is buttery smooth, and really takes me back to Fall with it’s maple flavor and vanilla undertones that increase with every infusion.
Flavors: Caramel, Chocolate, Maple, Vanilla
Preparation
This is the perfect every day black tea. It is sweet, yet floral. Thick, yet refreshing. Honey flavor that crescendos into floral tones more and more with each infusion.
A tea that makes me feel warm and energized. A positive feeling to start the morning.
Flavors: Floral, Honey
Preparation
Above average Green Tea. I am usually more of a PuErh/Oolong person, but this tea was a nice change of pace. Very broth-y with flavors of herbs and vegetables. Very fine tea for the Spring as the plants begin to bloom. Each infusion brought out a sweeter undertone that was fun to explore.
Flavors: Broth, Creamy, Cut Grass, Herbs, Vegetables
Preparation
This tea is nothing short of incredible. It is the best soothing experience I’ve ever had, and could bring down my migraines to a manageable level. The soothing from the GABA is almost immediate, and keeps getting deeper with each infusion.
Earthy, yet sweet, with a very deep and robust flavor.
Flavors: Earthy, Plum
