This tea is a tea tea. If you are a person in the West (or indeed I suspect many other places) and you imagine tea, this is what you are thinking about. And if you want to have some of what you are thinking about, you could buy this tea.

Overcoming fear is essential. I was crippled by anxiety, afraid to take a risk: a risk that I would experience disappointment, even bitterness. I kept steeping this Darjeeling for 3 minutes and kept getting mediocre results. Then I decided to swing for the fences and steep for 5 minutes. The tea seems so much more alive, and so am I.

Flavors: Fruity, Muscatel

Boiling 4 min, 45 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

I didn’t expect this tea to taste like chocolate. I didn’t expect something that tastes exactly like chocolate to have no sugar. Nevertheless, I like it. Sometimes life gives you lemons, sometimes it gives you tea that tastes like a mole. Just roll with it.

I couldn’t quite believe my eyes looking at the DFW terminal map: is there an actual tea shop in here? I could still taste the wood chips from the ‘tea’ I picked up at a coffee place in AUS. Anyway, aren’t they closing? Sure enough the store was still there. I needed my head to be operational when I got off the plane in SFO so I wanted to order some black tea. I tried get my eyes to focus despite a cold and days of committee meetings. Somehow I managed to order a cup. Hmm… I’m picking up notes of… CAFFIENE! That’s what I needed: thick, almost sour and full of caffiene. I got off the plane with my head still swimming but I found the Lyft and made it home. Thanks, Teavanna.

This is one of the teas that a friend brought back from Japan. I really enjoyed. It seems to be more on the green side of oolong.

PG Tips. Again. Seriously. We buy it in boxes that are bigger than my head. Where does it all go? Where has the last year gone? In between the 65+ hour workweeks, the trip across country for my grandfather’s funeral, the new job, the trip across country for my brother’s wedding, there is a steady rhythm of caffeine jolts that keeps everything moving.

That’s PG Tips: not fancy, not delicate, but reliable: quick to steep, able to stand up to an omelet (even an omelet covered in tomatillo salsa) consistently delivering needed energy.

Let’s hear it for the “best supporting actress”, the janitor, the viola player, and PG Tips: all those who make life better from the background.

Boiling 1 min, 15 sec
