I was very much looking forward to trying this new blend, and it arrived today! I immediately brewed up a cup, and it does not disappoint. Sticky sweet, caramelized sugar. A bit of a roasted quality coming through from the hojicha, but it’s mostly just delicious caramel. Not getting any smokiness at all, so if that was a deterrent for you, fear not!

Mine arrived today as well, but I tend to not open my new teas right away to focus on my older stuff. I was worried about the smoke so that encourages me!
Wow! I’m so excited, I just ordered this!!! <3 Very excited to get it. I hoep this means we will get more hojicha-inspired blends. Did you just pour boiling water over it, how long did you steep it for? Did you try it as a latte?
Mastress Alita- I can’t control myself when I get new blends in. So, I end up with lots of open tea.
Silent Kettle- I hope so too! Just tried it straight with a bit of honey for now, 195degree water, 3min.
