501 Tasting Notes

I definitely agree with previous reviews that mention it tastes like honeysuckle. It definitely does. That flavor seems like it would go better with a green base rather than a Darjeeling. The flavoring and the tea itself seem to be fighting with each other.

Apparently I had tasted this before, but I have no memory of that. There is a bit of a brandy note, as well as a slightly synthetic chocolate flavor. It’s slightly creamy, but not nearly enough for me to consider it reminiscent of cheesecake.

There was definitely more mango flavor this time around, still more coconut than the former though.

Oh, my. This may be one of my favorite chais ever. I’m very sad not to be able to purchase more. It’s very, very cardamom heavy (which I LOVE), and is full of fluffy marshmallow goodness. It’s so tasty. I have enough for one more cup, and I will savor it.

Perhaps I overstepped this, but it is quite offensive. It’s extremely sharp, sour, and dry.

Finished this one up, and sad to see it go. Definitely something I gravitates to frequently when I wanted something fruity.

This is another that I got out of the last TTB that I’m just now trying. It’s pretty unremarkable, with charcoal notes being the most prevalent flavor and aroma. Heavy amount of sediment in the cup. Not something I would try again.

Slowly making my way through all of the DT matchas. This is my least favorite of the bunch so far. I don’t get bubblegum really. It’s more of a grape medicine flavor, which I find pretty disagreeable. I made it as an iced latte, but I couldn’t finish it.

Received this in my SipsBy box a few months back, and it is absolutely wonderful. The lapacho is woody and a bit peppery, which balanced the orange peel and the creamy vanilla flavor perfectly. The flavor balance is exquisite. This is absolutely something I’d like to have on hand.

Got this from the last TTB and I’m just now brewing it up. No idea if I brewed it properly, but it smells and tastes very unique. A bit piney, a bit peppery. Overall very herbal and slightly medicinal. Not something I would necessarily drink again.

Hello! I live in Los Angeles with my boyfriend and 3 cats [+however many foster cats I have at the moment]. I’m also obsessed with all things spooky.

I became obsessed with the world of tea through DavidsTea years ago. I love to try new brands, so I’m constantly on the look out for new-to-me companies.

Favorite Brands:
Bird and Blend
The Necessiteas
August Uncommon
Jolie Tea Co.

Favorite flavors:

Most mint
Red Rooibos

Though, I’ll taste anything once!

I mainly brew western style.I like my tea extremely strong, so I tend to use wayyyyy more dry leaf than suggested.
