drank Eggnog by T2

Let’s start with the pros (there are not that many imho): the smell. It’s sweet and creamy and quite authentic. Not too artificial.
Unfortunately the taste is. For me the flavor is awful. I could not finish 1 cup of this tea. Had to sweeten it loads and pass it onto my husband who will accept any crappy tea, as long as it’s sweet ;-). Bless him.
You can taste THE EGG, the freaking hint of egg (in your tea! What the actual heck?). That’s never a good idea. Risky and sickening. What a bold move, T2. I don’t think it paid off, I’m sorry!

Flavors: Custard, Eggnog

Boiling 2 min, 0 sec 5 tsp 250 OZ / 7393 ML

Such a disappointment!
Firs of all – there is a mistake in the description. They’ve called it ‘Black & green tea mix’ – well, my darlings at T2: please note that puerh is not black tea, it’s red. You can definitely smell and taste the puerh, which is not a bad thing for me (I’m a big fan). It is earthy, dark and a bit ‘muddy’. However what I don’t like is the artificial coconut flavour (awful, made me feel sick) and the distinctive oiliness that it leaves in your mouth.
Moreover the second brew was very weak and even more disappointing. Such a shame, I saw potential in it, but it left me very underwhelmed.

Flavors: Coconut

Preparation
195 °F / 90 °C 2 min, 30 sec 5 tsp 250 OZ / 7393 ML

drank Gorgeous Geisha by T2

First of all – the smell – DIVINE. You can instantly smell lots of strawberries, mouthwatering, juicy, creamy and just delicious!
The flavour doesn’t disappoint. It’s a crowd pleaser, very creamy and easy to enjoy. I think this could be a great entry-level green tea for anyone who doesn’t like (or just think they don’t like) green tea. When properly brewed it’s not bitter at all, it’s sweet, but not sickly sweet. Well-balanced and subtle. Creamy goodness. The strawberries do leave a significant aftertaste but it’s not artificial at all. How T2 did it – I have no idea, must be some wizardry.
I will be buying more for sure. It would make a great gift for someone whom you don’t know what to give, for anyone really. Superb!

Flavors: Creamy, Fruity, Strawberry

Preparation
175 °F / 79 °C 2 min, 0 sec 5 tsp 250 OZ / 7393 ML

drank Go Go Goa by T2

I’m reading all the reviews below and can’t believe my eyes.
This tea literally made me feel sick… sadly. I’ve tried it twice so far and felt nauseous both times – it was awful. I won’t be trying any more.
I can mostly feel vanilla (very artificial imho) and I think that’s what’s making me feel poorly.
I’ve tried it both solo, as well as with milk (oat) and honey – both times I wasn’t impressed.

Flavors: Vanilla

Boiling 2 min, 30 sec 250 tsp 5 OZ / 147 ML

drank French Earl Grey by T2
22 tasting notes

What a lovely surprise, this one!
I was worried it would be another boring Ear Grey variation, it’s definitely not.

First of all – the SMELL. Oh my, the smell. I could smell like that myself. Where can I buy such perfume? This is splendid. You can feel the bergamot, the orange, the peach (!), rose, lychee (?). The smell is overpowering, I finished drinking this tea in the morning, it’s now 9PM, and I am still sitting here sniffing the sample bag like some sort of addict.

The tea tastes great, but I suggest brewing it rather shorter, than longer. Anything longer than 2,5 min will leave you with a very strong black tea and all the aromas will be killed, I’m afraid. If you have it ‘weaker’, you will be able to appreciate the whole palette. The third brewing was my favourite one, actually.

I believe this can be a love it or hate it kind of tea, but for me it’s love.

Speak to you all later, I need to run and buy more!

Flavors: Bergamot, Fruity, Hibiscus, Lavender, Lychee, Orange, Peach, Rose

Love this one. The name scared me because generally “French” means lavender, of which I am not a fan. But it’s not that at all! :D

So true! Even the colour of the sample bag is lavender, which confused me as well, I expected it to be very lavender-y and luckily it’s not!

Well… this is the kind of tea my father would like – and it’s not a compliment here ;-)
He is 65+ years old lovely chap, who loves regular black tea with sugar. I’m not sure if he can appreciate the difference between amazing quality oolong and Lipton black tea.
For him anything that’s sweet – it’s good.

And this is how I view this tea. Sweet rooibos. I would have never guessed I’m supposed to feel Sticky Dates or sticky toffee pudding if I haven’t read it on the packaging.
I find rooibos teas mostly disappointing, and it was no exception. It’s not life changing in any way.

On a positive note, it’s pretty strong rooibos, so you can brew it at least twice.

Flavors: Absinthe, Sweet, Sweet, Warm Grass, Toffee

Preparation

Aww, what a shame, it sounds so delicious!

Yes, a shame – one of a biggest disappointments of the 2020 T2 Advent Calendar so far. But each to their own, I know there are many people who love rooibos and love sweet simple flavours :-)

drank Gingernut Chai by T2
22 tasting notes

I received a sample in the 2020 Advent Calendar.
I usually HATE chai tea with a passion, but actually – this one wasn’t bad at all! Definitely drinkable.
Warming, spicy, slightly sweet, zingy even (thanks to ginger). You can definitely feel lots of cardamon, T2 weren’t stingy when it comes to spices.

I haven’t tried it with milk and sugar, but I suspect it could work well too.

Apparently it’s a limited edition. Well, I wasn’t planning on buying the whole box anyway ;-)

Flavors: Cardamom, Clove, Ginger, Orange

Preparation
Boiling 2 min, 15 sec 5 tsp 250 OZ / 7393 ML

drank Wakey Wakey by T2

This is by far the best T2 tea that I’ve tried so far. Will be buying more for sure.
It’s well balanced and refreshing. You can definitely feel yerba, green tea and some guarana in it. It does wake you up, even the smell does.
‘Fell good in the morning’ kind of vibe.
It’s a-ma-zing, I was surprised there weren’t any reviews yet.
Definitely my cup of tea! Try it if you can.

Disclaimer: I usually hate all fruit teas. Had to be said.
I received a sample of it (loose tea) in the T2 2020 Advent calendar. What a horrible year it’s been – girl has got to treat herself, right?
For a fruit tea, it’s actually not too shabby at all! Not sweet, quite sour and refreshing. Would probably taste even better in the summer served cold.
It’s definitely drinkable, one of the best fruit teas I’ve tried so far.
Overall – won’t be buying again, I can definitely live without it, but it’s pretty good and worth a try. If you like refreshing fruit teas – you might love it!

Boiling 3 min, 30 sec 5 tsp 250 OZ / 7393 ML

drank Jade Mountain by T2
22 tasting notes

Slightly disappointing… I had high expectations after reading the reviews on the T2 website.
People describe it as life-changing, Ferrero rocher (say what? definitely not) creamy goodness. Well, I’m not a massive fan.
Usually love green teas, love Genmaicha but this one is an odd egg in the basket. I don’t like the cocoa flavour in it and the smokiness, somehow it just tastes artificial.
Won’t be going back to this flavour, regular Genmaicha is definitely more my cup of tea!

Flavors: Cocoa, Hazelnut

Preparation
175 °F / 79 °C 3 min, 0 sec 5 tsp 250 OZ / 7393 ML

Bio

Hi there, I’m Anna! I’m a lawyer currently living in Cambridge, UK. Tea is my biggest hobby and the only thing I consume without fail every day. Probably between 6 and 12 cups/mugs/buckets of tea a day.

I prefer my tea smoking hot and without milk or sugar.
Actually, I take it back, the best ‘cheer me up’ beverage is black tea with honey and lemon. Handed to you by someone you love and who says everything will be fine.

Favorite Purveyors:
Kusmi
Paper & Tea
Moya

Teas I love and could die for: Moroccan mint, Genmaicha, Green jasmine, White tea, Earl grey, Darjeeling, Mate and Macha

Teas I hate with a passion: fruit teas, rooibos, chai, roasted mate

My guilty pleasure is having high tea experiences in posh places around Cambridge. It’s so worth it.
