I was so hesitant to try this tea because I thought the ginger might unfavorably tip the scales.

I’ve only had one tall glass (about 2 cups) of this over ice, but I really enjoyed it.

This tea reminds me of one of my all-time favorite DT blends, Redberry Tonic. The sea buckthorn flavor comes through so nicely, even though this is a green tea. I did get a bit of ginger at the tail-end of each sip, but I didn’t find it offensive or overpowering. I didn’t get a lot of pineapple, thankfully, but I’m sure it, along with the apple pieces, contributed a bit of sweetness to compliment the tart sea buckthorn berries.

It’s probably way too early to tell if this is a winner, but so far so good. I’ll finish the rest of my 1-ounce bag before deciding to stock up.

Another one of Teavana’s popular blends with appeal I just don’t quite understand.

This was vaguely citrusy. It wasn’t a sweet citrus note. It was a mild orange note. I’d liken the flavor to that of an orange that’s been plucked from the tree too soon. Apart from that, there was a random berry note that I couldn’t quite place.

It wasn’t anything to write home about, but it was more palatable than Pineapple Berry Blue.

I really don’t understand the appeal of this tea. I’m glad I didn’t care for it since Teavana’s closed up shop.

I didn’t get any distinct pineapple or blueberry flavors. I got primarily hibiscus, red rooibos (ICK!), and a very nondescript berry note. I drank one glass over ice and won’t be steeping another.

I tried this hot and straight, and I didn’t understand the fuss.

After adding a splash of milk, though, I can certainly understand why people are saying it tastes like eggnog. Thankfully the clove isn’t as in your face once you add milk because that would’ve made me less keen. It’s surprisingly tasty – surprising in that it manages to taste like eggnog despite all the random fruits. It’s essentially tea masquerading as eggnog, and I’m completely fine with that.

I believe there’s still some available on the US site, so I’ll likely stock up before it’s gone.

This is a nice chocolate coconut blend. Again, the black tea base isn’t really anything to write home about. I would’ve preferred that they’d left out the chocolate drops just because I don’t care for the oiliness that melted chocolate contributes to a tea. It’s got really lovely coconut flavor due to the large coconut flakes scattered throughout the blend. It takes milk well, and I’ve had it both hot and iced.

Not a tea I’d repurchase, but I’ll probably finish the rest of the 100g.

drank Creme Brulee by T2

I don’t think I was expecting the nuttiness. Does it belong in a creme brulee tea? No, maybe not. But, I don’t hate it. The black tea base isn’t very robust, but it’s got good vanilla and caramel flavor. It takes milk well and it makes a nice iced latte too.

Again, shame about the packaging.

What an odd combination of fruits.

I don’t really know what to say about this blend.

The aftertaste is terrible, and, to my palate, it’s not the stevia. I think it’s the combination of white chocolate and something else. There’s a really unpleasant sourness that lingers and a horrible waxy coating on the roof of my mouth.

This had such potential. When I heard the name I was expecting cranberries, pistachios, maybe a bit of orange peel, and apples (of course, because they’re in everything) in a rooibos base.

I couldn’t even finish my cup. Another no from me.

This is full on buttery nuts and sour fruits. I don’t get any caramel notes.

Thank you but no.

drank Gaba Guava by DAVIDsTEA

I’ll preface this by saying I’m not a fan of teas that taste like piña coladas.

I love coconut in teas, but I’m not a huge fan of pineapple in tea (and definitely not when paired with coconut).

Given that guava is the first ingredient in the blend, I was really hoping it would lean more toward tropical than piña colada. Alas, it’s almost entirely piña colada for me which is super disappointing because you don’t see guava in teas very often.

I iced it, and maybe that amplified the piña colada-y-ness. I just don’t want to drink tropical teas hot.

I might give it another go with a much shorter steep time or cold-steeped, but I might not bother.

I’m so glad I bit the bullet and purchased a taster bag of this when I noticed it was on sale. What a treat! Flavored white teas are so challenging for me because it’s difficult to extract much flavor, especially when the teas aren’t laden with candied fruits and things, with such a short steep. This is a wonderful blend. I love the passion fruit flavor in tea, and it comes through very nicely in this white tea – a nice combination of both sweet and tart. Since I had the blend iced I probably lost some of the creaminess, but, thankfully, the vanilla was still present. It’s a great tea for squashing the 3pm sugar cravings.
