drank Autumn apple rooibos by Trader Joe's

Medium quality rooibos that benefits from hotter steeps. Is also quite tasty cold brewed and brewed multiple times.

Sweet, rooibosy, natural sweetness of rooibos and apple, cinnamon in the background (but not too strong), caramelised brown sugar, wheat, spices. It all comes together well and makes for a nice cup for those who enjoy rooibos.

Flavors: Apple, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Mineral, Rooibos, Spices, Sweet, Thick, Wheat

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 4 min, 15 sec

Cold brew of Teavana’s Wild Orange Blossom (herbal) + Teavivre’s Jasmine Flowers (herbal) + Damman Freres Noel a Paris. Black cherry, tangerine, fruit punch. Not in a tea mood, but need to keep hydrated and this is mighty tasty.

Slightly bitter black base, a bit of earthiness, slight sweetness, a tiny bit of fruit. I steeped 3 min in 80 deg C water and tasted a lot more bitterness and astringency than expected. Maybe hotter water and a shorter steep time? It was pretty meh.

Flavors: Astringent, Bitter, Fruity, Sweet, Tannic

Preparation
180 °F / 82 °C 3 min, 30 sec 1 tsp 19 OZ / 550 ML

drank Jasmine Crème Brulée by DAVIDsTEA

Drank this iced. It’s the first tea I’ve had in weeks. Going through some stuff IRL and haven’t been interested in tea/hobbies. Sorry for being absent.

The jasmine flavour is quite subdued. Creamy caramel, brown sugar, milk, vanilla, fruity pineapple and sour rose hips. I don’t enjoy the rose hips at all. The green tea is very intense, I didn’t enjoy the base very much. Overall, I think it was tasty iced, but I can’t imagine enjoying it hot.

Flavors: Brown Sugar, Cream, Creamy, Fruity, Jasmine, Milk, Pineapple, Pleasantly Sour, Rosehips, Sweet

I hope the stuff works it out soon though it is nice to see you back!

Thank you! I’m going to be on and off for a while while I sort myself out, but I hope my passion comes back sometime. I’m just not in a place to enjoy things right now.

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)

My cupboard is mostly up to date. For a more comprehensive list, see my stash spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-HjWKR3um-xEnj6HC9vMvKXOAyj_bpW5u_2ixEC20-k/edit?usp=sharing
