GCTTB (round 6) tea!
Oddly enough, there was lots of licorice root, no bergamot (earl grey).
Very, vey woody. I like it though, it was an unexpected surprise! Notes of uncrushed fennel seeds, Earthy licorice roots (not sweet though), dirt and minerals, unground anise seed hulls, citrus, and tree dark. it is very interesting and enjoyable, but maybe not well named.
90/100 for flavour, but I was expecting some bergamot. If they renamed it something vaugue, I would rate it much higher.
Flavors: Anise, Autumn Leaf Pile, Bark, Citrus, Dirt, Dust, Earth, Fennel Seed, Licorice, Mineral, Oak, Spices, Tannin, Taro Root, Tea, Wood
Preparation
Standard woody/twiggy rooibos base with dried apple and hints of spice (cinnamon). This particular rooibos isn’t the best I’ve had, it was very average. Notes of dry wood, minerals, dry savannah plants, and woodchips. The blend didn’t taste bad, but it wasn’t something I would keep in stock or want to drink regularity.
Flavors: Apple, Bark, Cinnamon, Fruity, Mineral, Rooibos, Wood

GCTTB (round 6) tea!
I gravitated to this tea because it smells like caramel and candied flower petals. There is a hint of floral, a nice sweetness, a very distinct and natural fig flavour, like that in fig newtans. The fruity with the floral is really nice.
The base is mellow and not vegetal/grassy, but goes really nicely with the rose. There is a caramel note that stands out as being creamy and sweet, but naturally occurring. This tea isn’t like a David’s tea sweetened tea. The sweetness doesn’t taste like an additive.
Flavors: Caramel, Cream, Creamy, Fig, Floral, Fruity, Honey, Rose, Smooth, Spicy, Sweet, Tannin, Vanilla
Preparation
Drank “Deep Purple” (Green tea with common mallow) last night. I got the sample in a sample exchange or sale earlier the year, but I can’t remember who it is from or which company. It doesn’t seem to be on steepster.
Very pleasant sweet-floral taste. The green is a calm one, not bitter or astringent. I don’t know if this is related to the marshmallow plant, but it has a Germanium-type floral note combined with a distinct marshmallow taste.
Flavors: Flowers, Green, Honey, Honeysuckle, Marshmallow, Sweet, Tannin, Tea

From the GCTTB (round 6)
This is a very interesting, but very delicate, white tea. I’ve never had dried buds before, but I appreciate white teas for their unique flavour.
A tiny bit fruity or floral, a bit musty, and a bit like the smell of pussy willow blossoms. Maybe I’m just reminded of the shape, but it kinda seems vegetal, but not in a grassy/vegetation way. I’d say more of a new plant bud kind of way. It tastes like how it looks is what I mean. It is obviously from a plant, but but stemy/green at all.
Flavors: Dandelion, Fruity, Musty, Tea, Vegetal
Preparation
One of my favourite lavender blends!
Excellent lavender/chamomile/almond flavour.
Notes of sweet, dried herbs, lemon, and fragrant flower petals. A little bit of almond, but it is more of honey and almond milk than amaretto or cyanide flavour. Very tasty and quite calming!
It tastes like a dried bouquet of flowers harvested from a hidden meadow in spring. :)
Flavors: Almond, Citrus, Corn Husk, Dry Grass, Floral, Flowers, Fruit Tree Flowers, Fruity, Honey, Lavender, Lemongrass, Nutty, Sweet
Preparation
*Note: I’ll be adding this to the GCTTB and I recommend everyone try it. I really love the flavour and think it is very unique. Especially if you like herbals, do yourself a favour and sip this on a stressful day.
Received this as a present from my Greek friend for Christmas! I love Greek mountain tea.
I’m usually impatient with its long steep time, but it is worth it. Greek mountain tea has a distinctly lemon/pepper flavour. There are (not unpleasant) notes of soap, dried bay leaf, and sage. Despite the resemblance to savoury herbs, I wouldn’t say this is a savoury tea any more than chamomile is. The dried grass flavour in combination with the lemony one is fantastic.
Flavors: Bamboo, Black Pepper, Citrus, Dry Grass, Herbaceous, Herbs, Lemon, Pepper, Sage
Preparation
I’m not a huge fan of the bitterness than comes from the deep roasting in this tisane, but I also like the complex grainy malt flavour. There are interesting (and expected) flavours of toasty sweetness, dried grain/corn husk, and chestnuts. Very interesting to try, but maybe not something I would keep around all the time.
Flavors: Bitter, Chestnut, Corn Husk, Dry Grass, Grain, Oak, Roasted, Rye, Sweet, Toasted, Toasty, Wheat
