2958 Tasting Notes
This green base is why I think I don’t enjoy green teas. It’s just too green and grassy for me. The leaves look beautiful expanded, and those little pink petals open up. I do not taste cherry at all or anything more than the fainest hint of flowers.
Flavors: Drying, Grass, Green, Tannin, Vegetal
Preparation
Strong lychee flavour, but the tea base is too strong for me. I brewed for about 3 minutes and the water was not boiling, yet somehow it ended up a bit tannic and bitter.

I feel like some teas are just destined to make bitter tea. Nothing you can do will counter it, it is just a bad base. Sometimes they work iced, but mostly its one of the “nice flavour, but will use it up and then never buy it again” sort of teas.
I normally do not buy tea when I’m out because I always bring teabags of my looseleaf with me. This time I was at a nice cafe with the BEST cinnamon buns I have ever tasted (lots if caramel and raisins!). I bought a caffeinated tea to enjoy with it and it was an excellent combination.
I was actually very impressed, considering this is a bagged tea from a company I have not tried before. I will probably try their other teas when I have a chance. “Paris” lives up to its name be being wonderful fruity, floral, and smooth. It has the pronounced black tea flavours I would expect to drink in a Parisian cafe.

First of all, the coconut is quite strong in this. If you really like coconut, you would like this tea. If not, this is not for you. It isn’t soapy, per se, but it is prevalent, which detracts from the blend as a whole IMO.
I’m not getting a lot of strawberry, but I think its because the freeze dried strawberries are at the bottom of the package. I also didn’t steep it very long, so that could be it. EDIT: I had it again today and there was a very clear (but subtle) sweet strawberry flavour. You know the strawberries in special K cereal? It tasted like that.
I LOVE the honeybush used here. I somehow never realized how much I love honeybush and how much it does for a rooibos blend.
Overall this is very rooibosy, but with the woodier (and less sweet) flavour of honeybush to balance it. IT is a little bit fruity, and the toasted coconut is flavourful.
Flavors: Brown Sugar, Coconut, Fruity, Hot Hay, Rooibos, Sugarcane, Sweet, Toasted, Wood
Preparation
The sweet rooibos goes really nicely with the natural berry flavours. No hint of sour or acidic undertones. I’ve had it hot and cold, both are very good. This is going to make a fantastic iced tea.
Flavors: Berries, Berry, Blackberry, Blueberry, Dried Fruit, Fruity, Herbs, Raspberry, Rooibos, Stems, Sweet

Backlog from yesterday! For some reason, I totally forgot to log some of the new teas I tried.
Well, this isn’t actually new, but I have not logged it before so it still counts.
The rooibos comes off very strong, but I like it. There is a lot of sweetness, which is why I like this as a dessert tea in the morning or after dinner. It is fantastic with milk (try it with vanilla soy/almond milk!) but I wouldn’t add sugar to this already sweet blend.
The caramel and cream are quite evident. I do like the vanilla, creamy, and caramelised sugar notes I’m getting. It kinda tastes a little like those small squares of creamy caramel ,which I’ve never liked, but it has a very butterscotch/classic caramel flavour going on.
Flavors: Butterscotch, Caramel, Creamy, Pastries, Rooibos, Sugarcane, Sweet, Vanilla
Preparation
I was hesitant on the flavoured matcha because I’ve had some gross cheap matcha before and did not enjoy the bitterness of it. Luckily, this matcha has no hint of bitterness. It does have a strong matcha/green tea taste, but the peach is prominent as well. I’ve had it both straight and with milk, but I prefer the matcha lattes. I plan on putting this will vanilla icecream to make a delicious milkshake, it is a really nice dessert matcha.
Flavors: Fruity, Green, Nectar, Peach, Stonefruit, Sugarcane, Sweet
Yet another tea I bought for my secret pumpkin. Of course, I had to buy myself some as well.
This tastes quite like a black tea to me, but more like a fine black tea one would drink out of a fancy teapot (as I did, so maybe I’ve biased myself). It tastes a bit of porcelain, medium strength tannins, and something that’s…fruity? No specific fruit, but there is this sweet note that tastes of cocoa powder and something sweet and fruity. I’m not sure what this is actually, but I like it.
It holds up well to being steeped a few times and has flavour while not being bitter, so overall a really interesting tea. The brews a strong yellow colour (as opposed to the expected amber colour), which I found very interesting. The little rolled leaves unfurl and my 2 tsp of dry leaf took over my entire strainer. This is quite a neat tea.
