May Sipdown Prompt – a cold steeped tea

I put this in the fridge this morning after breakfast and took it out after lunch. I used the Rare Tea Company glass cold steeper, so this was refreshingly freezing cold, much colder than plastic containers get! I think the tea should have had more time, though.

The bergamot came through very well, the rose was muted, and the tea base itself just hadn’t had time to extract as well as I had hoped. Still it was quite refreshing to drink outside on this hot and muggy day. I will definitely be trying this again, giving the tea more time to infuse. The citrusy bergamot is great as a cold tea flavor.

Bio

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fifteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
