Sipdown

October Sipdown Challenge Prompt – a tea you prefer plain

I drink almost all of my tea sans additions, so practically any tea would have done well for this prompt. I chose this one because it is not only a sipdown but it is so well liked that I already have two on the way – one for my house and one for a gift.

Superanna and her husband came to my house Friday evening. AliasHali had made cookies as a gift for Ashman and we all had tea and cookies together.

Ashman absolutely loved this tea with cookies and said it was a perfect pairing. That surprised me because I wouldn’t have considered the two complimentary. I made this because SuperAnna drinks mostly green or white tea and when offered a selection, chose this one.

Usually we finish one pot of tea and move on to a different tea. She requested more of this one! So I have ordered a tin for her and a refill bag for me.

Today I had the last teaspoon and a half of leaf made for breakfast. Even resteeping and combining this was so sweet! I think a ton of blackberry leaf must have settled to the bottom of the tin. Hopefully in the future I will remember to give the tin a little shake, but it was still good!

This one sounds so interesting! I wish the literary sampler included all of the blends ha ha.

I will be happy to send you some when it gets here! It smells like Smarties candy – the American kind. Superanna asked what the flavor was and I told her blackberry. She agreed with me that the cocoa nibs are not producing chocolate flavor, but I don’t mind because we all like it so much!

Bio

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fifteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
