December 31 Sipdown Challenge Prompt – drink your oldest tea

Sipdown

I bought a one pound bag of loose chamomile many, many years ago and finished it tonight for this prompt. As so often happens, the final pot is one of the best. This is so sweet and feels good on my dry throat. It tastes of summer sun warmed hay, honey, and apples. There is such sweetness, almost as if it has just a touch of licorice root, but it doesn’t.

With fireworks going off all over the place and likely to continue into the wee hours, I am hoping it will send me off into peaceful sleep with happy dreams. Sometimes chamomile gives me vivid dreams, though, so I do hope they are very pleasant ones!

Happy New Year to all! I have posted the 2026 Sipdown Challenge a couple of hours early, and there is a prompt for January 1st!

Thank you, and to you as well! Next purchase will be of a much smaller amount!

Bio

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fifteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
