1269 Tasting Notes
I decided to go nuts with the breadmaker pound cake and totally messed it up. Probably a good idea to follow recipes for breadmakers, not toss in extra liquids. I got a nice undercooked lump of pound cake. I tossed it in the oven and it over baked. Figures.
At least I have good melon tea to wash it down.
Darn it, another tasty sip down! Why can’t my sip downs suck so I don’t feel bad that I don’t have any of that tea left!
I was too lazy to rinse out my teapot, which had leftover Vanilla Orchid (davidstea) and poured in the Apricot Cheesecake. Yum! yum! So cheesecakey tart with a little apricot!
Ah well, going back to messing around with the breadmaker.
This tea is TASTY! TASTYTASTYTASTY!
First off – The Persimmon Tree did a few name changes, so this tea is now Banana Coconut. mmm, coconut!
What I found while reviewing this tea is the magic is in the steep time. I first did the rooibos steep time – which produces a stronger chamomile taste with a banana aftertaste.
I then discovered that The Persimmon Tree has this tea listed as 5 to 7 minutes, the herbal steep time. I made another cup at 6 minutes and WHOA! It’s just a little woody chamomile, finishing off with strong creamy sweet caramelly banana flavors. This tea also make an amazing latte – it’s like having that cup of warm milk before bed but much more relaxing from the chamomile with a tasty banana brown sugar treat.

I also have a promo code posted there!
Not bad of a last cup and pretty caramelly tasting. I only had 4 mulberries left and promptly burnt my fingers fishing them out of my steeper to snack on.
Geeze, with all these teas I’m polishing off, my cupboard count is going down – I’m used to the count going up! I really need to order more teas, heheheheheheheeeeeeeee!
Because I’m slightly crazy, or too creative. I decided to sweeten my blueberry matcha latte with blueberry jam.
Chunky, but delicious! Super Super blueberry taste!
I totally needed it too – it’s my rabbit’s birthday today. He’s 1 year old, and very angry about wearing his birthday hat that I made this morning, that it was crazy to get a picture of him wearing it. See picture: http://bunnyjiujitsu.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/img_2828.jpg
Jasmine Blossom is really pretty with all the amazing pale yellow flowers. Of course, this tea taste super floral – if you love floral, this is the tea for you!
I dig this tea, but I think I’ll mix it with other teas, unless I’m in a floral mood.

Iced latte mode!
Banana Cheesecake genmaicha is better as a latte, IMO, but still tastes a little like artificial funky banana to me. However, this is still decent tasting and I pick up the cheesecakeyness.
I hammered through my crochet work this morning, completing a turtle amigurumi pattern
I’m hoping it does well – my crochet sales go towards tea!
Sad Oolong Owl sip down!
The last of my bag of Maple Pecan. I probably should order more, but I still have a pile of Butiki teas I haven’t tried from my last order because I’ve been getting more tea than time to blog about.
The fun part of this tea is the bottom of my bag was so much nuts! Here’s a pic I posted on my Oolong Owl facebook http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=532022313494745&set=a.517063994990577.124981.516160198414290&type=1&theater
Of course, this is the best freaking cup of Maple Pecan Oolong – so nutty and sweet maple taste! Maybe if I don’t finish my cup, it’ll magically refill its self. Sigh.
