HANGOVER TEA MODE!
Ugggg, great metal concert last night. Though, seeing Devin Townsend in his home town shows is waaaay better and crazy than this Los Angeles show. I did escape with minimal injuries and scared one guy while trying to get a flying guitar pick as I did some jiu jitsu arm trap to get his arm out of the way, lol! Don’t mess with this Canadian!
The morning after, hearing sucks (lost my ear plugs), voice lost, head throbbing and sore throat. I kept thinking about that amazing iced tea I had before the concert with Good Morning Sunshine and starting to crave it again.
Post metal concert tea:
Hot, served with a shot of honey and a couple fresh lemon slices.
Better than a cup of coffee! I’m perking right up, my headache isn’t feeling as bad and the honey is soothing my throat. I can just taste a sweet lemon flavor, but my taste buds are shot anyways.
Well, looks like this Sunday will be mostly knitting and drinking hot teas.

I am so jealous that you got to go! What did you think of the other bands? I wanted to go mainly for Devin and Katatonia. It must have been such an awesome concert. Damn you Vancouver for having the concert on the first day of classes.
Glad the tea is making you feel better!
Katatonia was pretty amazing live! I’ve heard their stuff before, but live blew me away! Paradise Lost’s front man has the flu so his voice was pretty noticeably out, which was a disappointment. Stolen Babies was interestingly weird choice as it was kinda punky – best part was for one song the bassist pulled out a huge stand up bass. Devin was amazing live, as usual. I wished he played something off Ziltiod, but it was mostly stuff off Epicloud and a few classics (regulator, War, Bad Devil, Vampira, Kingdom). The Vancouver shows are better! The Los Angeles crowd was really dull and crabby.
Awesome! Katatonia is my favourite band ever which made this hurt even more (but I’ll admit that I like their mid-career stuff a lot more than the last few albums). But you’re right, they’re awesome live. I was lucky to catch their 20th anniversary show in Stockholm last December and it was a mind-numbingly stellar performance. Too bad about PL, though. I was a little surprised that Stolen Babies were part of the line-up. They’re entertaining live for sure, but kind of just a novelty act, you know? I saw them with Lacuna Coil and the Gathering, which seemed more appropriate . Can’t wait to hear Epicloud!
