I was hugely disappointed with this tea. I love mangos, and this tea smells amazingly like the ones I used to get at my grandma’s house. But something about it tastes off to me. There’s an odd chemical tinge that reminds me I had this same experience with their Takibi, but the chemical edge is harsher here, and harder to ignore.

The tea still smells good when brewed up, if a bit subdued, but the flavoring can’t compete at all with that chemical taste. I did try letting this tea sit to let the flavors settle, but it was still unpleasant.

And I just realized this was my 100 tasting note! Hard to believe I’ve tried that many teas. How did that happen?

I bought this a while ago and tasted it then, was disappointed and shoved it to the back of my tea cupboard. It’s summer now, so I figured I’d give this fruity blend another shot. Alas, it’s still pretty much as I remember it.

I was expecting something a bit fruitier, and the salesperson seemed to realize this tea wouldn’t cut it, as she kept trying to insist I buy something to blend it with. But… I don’t like buying a whole 2 oz of a tea just to end up mixing it with a whole other 2 oz of another.

This tastes more like very faint unripened pineapple water. It sort of reminds me of those places that take the pineapple rind and stick it in water, particularly because this is not sweet at all. Going to find someone else who’ll love this…

I have yet to try Adagio’s earl grey bravo straight, but so fair I’ve liked it in the blends I’ve had. Here, it’s mixed with blood orange and vanilla honeybush. It definitely had an orange flavor to it, and while I thought that the body of the tea was a bit weak sometimes, it made for a reliable morning cup with no extra sweetness necessary.

Honeydew lovers, this is for you. I tried this both hot and cold-brewed, and I preferred cold. That way, the rooibos (although the mild green variety) isn’t as prominent, and it’s basically a fruity sensation. It’s already a bit sweet, but adding just that touch of extra sugar enhances the already-strong melon taste. Very refreshing for this hot weather we’re having!

This just isn’t for me. It smells wonderful – huge peach aroma. Looks like Lupicia’s standard green bancha with cute little sugar crystals and rose petals. I’m not sure if it was the rose petals or the peach flavoring, but something about this tea didn’t sit right with me. It could have been the floral note – apparently I am picky about which florals I like. Or it could have been the peach flavoring, which was sweet and felt a little artificial in my mouth. It reminded me of Japanese peach candies, but I like those better.

I tried this both hot and iced and didn’t like it either way.

Got a little free packet of this with my purchase of a Handy Cooler. I cold-brewed it overnight, and it turned into a light, slightly sweet (from the little sugar crystals), green tea with a muscat grape aftertaste. I can see how this flavor might be weird to taste hot. I’m not running to buy a whole bag of this, but it was a nice few cups.

Like many other Lupicia teas I have tried, the scent is strong with this one. The dry rooibos smells like orange juice, really. Fresh squeezed. There are even cute little sugar crystals in the tea, just like their Momoko.

It steeps up to a orange-brown and loses some of that orange aroma, but the fruit still shows up in the taste. I didn’t try adding any extra sugar since there was sugar in the tea already, and I found it sweet enough. This rooibos feels like more of a dessert tea to me. There’s this hint of orange liquer in the taste.

I’d recommend staying under 5 minutes for this one and making hot-then-chilled iced tea. When I let it sit longer or tried cold-brewing it, the rooibos got a bit woodsy for my tastes, even though it was still drinkable.

This tea is very difficult to describe. At first sip, it doesn’t seem like it should work. Peppermint and almond don’t go together! And they certainly don’t go with earl grey green! What??

It’s odd because it actually does. The almond adds a hint of sweetness to the more exuberant peppermint/bergamot battle. I’m going to have to order a sample of adagio’s earl grey green just to figure out what’s going on with this tea, haha. The bergamot is barely there, but the green tea base is mild and almost a bit nutty.

Everytime I had a cup of this, it just called attention to itself – sort of like a meditative experience. In the end, this was relaxing and a great drink for afternoons.

I didn’t really like this cold, but it’s really relaxing and refreshing at room temperature.

Another from the Spring Mystery Box that just doesn’t do anything for me. Which is absolutely not the fault of the mystery box, as I probably would have elected to try this tea on my own anyhow. It sounded interesting, and I do like vegetables.

Unfortunately I’ve had this a few times now and well, it does taste like veggies, but not in any way I would want to drink. The green tea base is barely there and the carrot pieces just take over the whole thing. The peach blends into the other veggies. In the end, I felt like I was drinking a watered down, slightly sweet, vegetable soup. I’m sure a rabbit would love it, though.

A nice, creamy coconut tea. It smells like shredded coconut, but brews up to a golden yellow and the flavor of the tea itself develops and pairs well with the coconut. I mostly drank this hot, but the one time I had it chilled was delicious as well.

I’m not sure why David’s goes for the higher temperature brewing directions on their white teas, I’ve had better results with steeping in cooler water. Plus you get to drink it without burning your mouth faster!
