Wow, this is a really unique chocolate. I love the color of it. I was expecting a pale green colored chocolate, but this is more of a medium olive green color, just like your standard green tea leaves. It tastes mostly of green tea with the smoothness and creaminess of white chocolate. There are tiny bits of leaves in it that give an interesting crunchy texture. This is more of a novelty item than something I would eat every day. It would make a really neat gift for any tea lover.

I decided to try another bag of this, from another batch of tea to see if it is any better. Sadly, it is just as bad as the first time I had it. I threw it out after two sips.

You’re far more brave than I! If I really don’t like it, I can only try the same batch once more, let alone trying again with a whole different one!

I’m pretty sure this is the same tea I received from Mel a while back (although it was from a different company). I’ve been trying to find an online source for it ever since, because it is really good. It tastes mostly of coconut and vanilla. The apples just add a little bit of sweetness. You can’t really taste the chocolate, I think it helps round out the flavor and maybe add a bit of creaminess. The coconut makes this a very oily tea, which helps give it a thicker and more creamy texture. The combination of rooibos and black tea is interesting, but it unfortunately adds a bit of caffeine to the mix. If I could only drink one flavored tea for the rest of my life, this would probably be my pick. I almost cried when I used up the last of my sample. Prepared with stevia.

This tea really puzzles me. Looking at the ingredients list, it should not work. Chocolate, macadamia nuts, and vanilla should not go with pineapple, pears, and figs. But the flavors kind of work. The tea is very sweet and fruity, with just a bit of chocolate and nuttiness. I’m not sure I would want this everyday, but it’s okay to drink on occasion. Prepared with almond milk and stevia.

I’ve been wanting to try this tea forever and finally got a couple bags in a swap. I’m not totally blown away by this tea, but it is pretty good. It has a good berry flavor mixed with some chocolate cake-iness. The mouthfeel seems very juicy and refreshing. The rooibos does come through quite a bit, but for me that’s a good thing. As much as I enjoyed this tea, I’m probably not going to buy it since it is only available in bags. If this was offered in a loose version, I would purchase it in a heartbeat. Prepared with almond milk and stevia.

Hmmm… this has to be the strangest smelling tea ever. While steeping, it smells kind of like fried food (apparently from the barley in the mix). The tea is a bit savory and buttery tasting. It is quite thick and chocolaty with a bit of coconut. This is definitely a unique tasting tea. I’m not sure whether I would purchase this or not (maybe if it was available loose rather than just in bags). Prepared with almond milk and stevia.

I received this as a free sample with the Republic of Tea catalog. This is a decent vanilla flavored rooibos, but I’m not tasting any cream flavor in it. It’s not any better or worse than other vanilla rooibos teas that I’ve had. I’ll probably stick with Adagio’s Vanilla Rooibos, since it’s very similar and cheaper. Prepared with stevia.

In the past I haven’t had great luck with citrus flavors in black tea, and this one was no exception. The first time I made it, I wasn’t a big fan. It seemed like the lime and black tea flavors were fighting each other. Today I added some shredded coconut and I might have stumbled onto something. Prepared with almond milk and stevia.

I never thought of adding coconut to tea. I have a lime flavored tea that I must try that with.

I have a love/hate relationship with citrus flavored black teas (and I hate the majority of them). This one is actually pretty good. It’s not a tart or strong lemon flavor, it is more like a lemon creme. The black tea flavor in it is about right, but I think it could get really bitter if oversteeped. Prepared with stevia.

This seems to be one of the rare black teas where the flavors actually work to enhance the tea, rather than just screaming “I’m a fruit flavored tea”. I can’t really pick out the individual cranberry and orange flavors – I can just taste that there is a little something extra in this tea. I love that they didn’t add any spices to this blend (unlike a lot of autumn and winter teas). If you’re looking for a good slightly fruity tea, this one fits the bill. Prepared with almond milk and stevia.
