Aw man, this might be a long day. I poured some water into my steeper but accidentally put it on the coaster sideways so I turned back around to check on it and there was nothing left. So I poured more water in and saved the tea day! Lol. I am a klutz today.
With a little dash of milk, this is a creamy caramel slightly cheesecake tea. I am going to miss this one when I’m done this pouch. If it’s ever reblended, I will definitely consider picking up a pouch!
Flavors: Caramel
Preparation
Too bad shipping is so slow to Canada, this took quite awhile to get here :(
But it’s here now!
Yummy, what a wonderful weekend treat. Smooth caramel with light tangy cheesecake. And of course, the smooth black base really shines through.
At this low steep time of 2.5minutes, I didn’t find any astringency.
I look forward to this as a weekend treat, maybe as a latte!
Preparation
Review of the old (original Frank) version of this, which remains quite potent despite its age. Very citrussy, almost like nerds candy (lemon-lime). Base tea is unremarkable, which is fine. Definitely reminiscent of key lime sherbet I used to have as a kid, although this tea does not have the creaminess.
Hot-brewed and chilled some of this a few days ago. It’s ok; it mostly certainly is very tart-citrusy-sherbety, but it’s a little bit on the acidic and astringent side. Perhaps it’s an age thing? Either way, it’s moved to being kind of meh for me. I don’t recall if I tried it hot, but can only imagine that this is one tea that was designed to be drank chilled.
Preparation
Ok, so I know I just said the last tea was potent in dry form, but woah, this one! The aroma here is so pungent and tangy… but in an amazingly delicious sherbetty way! Can’t even wait to get started! This tea also came to me by way of the very generous silvermage2000!
So I wasn’t watching the timer particularly carefully today, and this tea got an additional 30 seconds more than I intended. It shows in the form of unpleasant bitterness; next time I’ll definitely lower the infusion time. However, in spite of the bitterness, I can still taste the medley of tangy fruity sherbet flavours! It tastes kind of like a fruity sour candy, as well, grounded by a strong black base.
I’ll have to try this one again to see if I can manage to avoid bitterness, but I must say that this is another tea that really needs to be resurrected so all of us newbies can pick some up to try! Yum!

(52teas (Anne) 2022: already recorded)
Yes indeed, another new packet opening! I assume this one must have been misplaced or something, because it’s a whole 2oz packet. From mid-2015, according to what I wrote on it. (I also have a small amount from 2021.)
Anyhow, considering its age, this is still pretty tasty. Yes, the flavour is muted, but it’s still fluffy and limey. Almost a bit of a pineapple flavour too, which is interesting.
This was so incredibly creamy and delicious today. Noms. Truly a creamy lime jello salad (or, what I’d imagine it to taste like, anyhow). And so good in a travel mug.
Sipdown! But another tea from Christmas… sad sad.
Brewed this one hot and chilled it… it was kind of meh. I’m not sure if that’s because the reblend wasn’t as good as the original, or because it’s better warm/lukewarm, but I don’t think I’d try chilling this one again. Lime Gelato and Lime Chiffon are better.
Preparation
Limey marshmallowy deliciousness. Another tea I’m restraining myself from re-purchasing. Sigh.
Preparation
As you mentioned before, we seem to have similar tastes. Love this one! I should cold brew up a batch of this soon. That purchase button will be haunting you.
Hahaha, gotcha! Yeah, the purchase button is haunting me… It was with Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake too, but it sold out about an hour before my joint order was placed. Now, of course, I regret it :/
I really enjoyed it. It was definitely a blend I really wanted to re-stock, but the only thing stopped me was the sheer amount of tea I already have… and then it was too late :(
12 Days of Tea #7! I shamefully admit that I did not drink #6, as it was Graveyard Mist, and I truly dislike that tea.
Anyhow! I only had a sip of this before I stupidly brushed my teeth. It tasted much more pineappley than the previous batch, which was much more just the lime jello flavour, but it was still good! I’ll properly review it later :)
In other news: I’m home for Christmas! Woooo, relaxation… not! Christmas shopping tomorrow, baking Saturday, decorating the tree/house tomorrow and Saturday… trying to cram a whole month into four days, here!
Preparation
Yeah, I usually enjoy it to some degree as well, but it’s really not helping that I now also have a cold. Sigh. If I can’t taste Christmas dinner, I am going to be tiiiiiicked…
Aw, I hope you feel better once the actual day rolls around! I’ve been sick before on xmas, definitely not fun.
I hope so too! It’s really hurting my motivation to decorate though. That and the fact that a) I pretty much have to do it alone, b) I hate putting lights on the tree, and c) my dad just wants to watch stupid history shows but I’d like to have Christmas music and/or a movie on while I decorate. Grrrrr, arrrgh! I haven’t ever been sick on Christmas day, and I hope this won’t be the year that changes!
Yum! Creamy, limey goodness. I’m craving sweet this morning (oh wait…. it’s not morning anymore…?!) though, and kind of wish I’d put some sugar into it before I left this morning.
Anyhow, taking a short Steepster break from working while I let the machine run, as it seems I’ve messed something up already today. Oh noes :(
Preparation
Nom nom nom. A travel mug of this one accompanied me to the boy’s house last night! Drank it in between pathetic attempts at playing songs on Rocksmith. I am clueless about playing the guitar (which is super frustrating because I’m decent at piano, and seem to think that the two should correlate a heck of a lot better than they do!) Ah well. Practice makes perfect…
Preparation
I do hope that this one was in the 12 Days sampler, although I didn’t order the sampler, Frank usually offers the teas in the sampler box as a limited reblend … and I’d love to get more of it.
Was this tea a popular tea when it was released? I think this was before my Steepster days. It doesn’t really sound that appetisizing to me, but I’ve heard really good things about it (I also ordered the 52teas christmas sampler, too)
Made some more of this to take to work tonight. Soooooo delicious. Limey marshmallow fluff. I think I prefer this blend to Sun & Cloud Mist, although I think I should try a side-by-side comparison someday, since both are citrus + marshmallow.
Second infusion, also for 2.5 minutes, is a touch oversteeped (bitter), so I’d drop that infusion down to two minutes.
Preparation
Thanks to silvermage2000 for very generously sending me her packet of this tea!!
Oh wow, does this one ever smell potent, and exactly like lime jello! I’m not even a fan of lime jello, however that’s more of a texture than a flavor thing, so I’m definitely excited for this tea! And my excitement is justified – it tastes just like a creamy limey jello! Can’t really taste the green tea at all, but the flavouring here is amazing. I’m really enjoying the 52teas blends that use marshmallow root for creaminess. It seems to add something extra-delicious that I really can’t get enough of! Definitely regretting not ordering Graveyard Mist now.
I can definitely see why everyone’s a big fan of this one. I think this is one of the SBT teabags I’ve tried as well, and I have to say that it unfortunately definitely falls very short on the flavouring. However, I have an ample amount of this one, and will be enjoying it for quite a while! Yum!
Thanks again, silvermage2000!
Preparation
thank you Amanda for a sample of this included in your tea envelope sale! This one sounded like an interesting one to try tonight. I realized recently that rooibos and herbals are the only teas that do not have caffiene. I’m a bit worried I won’t be able to resist the caffiene teas at night! This is definitely lemon/lime! But a little short changed on the cheesecake element. It does have an odd scent to it that I guess should be the cheesecake? I can’t really taste it though, just smell it. It does become more present as it cools. It would probably be good iced! I really need to start making iced teas. I wonder what the difference is between honeybush and rooibos is.. they seem so similar. This is good — I just wish it had more of a cheesecake flavor to it. Maybe I didn’t put enough tea in the infuser… Seems very sunshiney!
Trying the new and improved version. Nice cherry flavour in this blend and the gunpowder base is a good one. Sometimes cheaper gunpowder greens can be very grassy and astringent which this one manages to avoid. The almond flavour is the part that’s noticeably lacking, in my opinion. The original had a nice amaretto flavour that the newer version lacks; it’s the sunflower seeds again, I think, they give an impression of nuttiness but they just don’t taste like almonds no matter how you look at it.
