Revisiting this one… Beautifully serene. It is fresh and crisp and light. Very refreshing. I’ve already brewed my iced tea for tomorrow, so I will brew some of this tomorrow night for Monday! Looking forward to that!

This really does taste like spring. It has a fresh, crisp taste to it. It’s very cool and refreshing to sip, even when it’s hot. It will be delish iced, I’m sure!

Jillian

How does it match up to Adagio’s version?

LiberTEAS

I haven’t tried Adagio’s version… so I really can’t compare the two. But I really like this one.

Jillian

Adagio’s has been described as ‘cinnamon dill pickle’ if you oversteep it, but if you keep the steeping time short it isn’t too bad – green and frresh. I’d send you some to try if I had any left.

Two listings for this tea on here… since this is the one onto which most people are logging, I figured I’d log here too. This tea is absolutely yum. The blueberries are huge and plump up big and juicy after infusing.

Delicious blueberry flavor, sweet, creamy background. Very nice.

drank Citrus Spice Chamomile by 52teas

Like others, I had no particular interest in buying a chamomile tea, but this also came to me in the inventory oops sale :) And it’s not as though I can’t use some soothing- I’ve been suffering from adrenal fatigue lately because of the stress in my life (grad school). To me, this tastes mostly just like chamomile, which brings back memories of the teas I used to drink before discovering good tea. I had a lot of Celestial Seasonings chamomile in my house.

Anyway, I am going to try to drink this for the good of my relaxation, but I’m bummed that I don’t get any citrus or spice out of it.

This is another sample I received from KeenTeaThyme (KiTT) and it is super yummy! I could really smell the syrup as the tea infused. The taste is pretty out of this world. I can taste the pancake and syrup and it is pretty fantastic! Nothing quit like drinking breakfast.

KeenTeaThyme

I can’t get enough of that tea! I have to slow my roll or I’ll run out…unless we can convince Frank to make it permanent at 52teas!

IllBeMother221B

I think it should be a regular tea!!

Sadly, this is another one that has become less appealing to me over time. Today, I shook out a considerable deal of dust (what I believe used to be the mint in the tea) so I added a half teaspoon of Spearmint to brighten it up a bit. I’m getting a dry sensation in the aftertaste and a pretty sharp mint. The green is present, though not dominant. Not being a green fan, it is a hint more green than I would prefer, but still acceptable. I am pretty certain this cup is oversteeped though, and that is doing something unpleasant. I really am having a bit of tea failure this week, hopefully I can fix it up soon with something better. Maybe I need to get back to basics.

LiberTEAS

I don’t know for sure, but, I think the “dust” may have been vanilla bean…

Uniquity

Hmm. I hope not, as that means I shook out all the vanilla goodness. Though, that would explain this cuppa. I had dust and drudge in the bottom of my cup, so I always give the infuser a shake beforehand.

Enjoying this at the moment. I feel a bit guilty that the same teas stay a work all the time while the bulk of my collection is at home. I wish I could have all my teas all the time, but such is life. Had some of this today after a bit of a break and am enjoying it. Mint is dominant, but with the green tea tempering it out. I still think you’d have to be a mint nut to enjoy it, but I AM a mint nut! : )

This is a perfectly yummy mint green tea…and there is no shame in that! Unfortunately, It only gets an ‘average’ rating because it tastes…well, average. Most of the 52Teas I have had have really stoofdout in one way or another, which made them rise to the top of my selections. This is nice, but I never feel drawn to drink it. More of an “everyday, use it ‘til it’s gone” sort of tea. Again, nothing wrong with that!

This is one of the teas I was unsure about when i ordered…green and I have issues sometimes. It makes me queasy occasionally (no clue why) and it always seems like too much work. Ironically, when I’m at work it’s one of the easiest, since the water is nowhere near boiling and I can just take it from the spout.

Anyway. I tried to give this a good shake because I could see lots of mint at the bottom and lots of tea at the top. I got a good mix in the end, and I see some sticks in there, but some pretty large leaves as well. I can smell the mint and vanilla mix more than anything in the dry and steeped tea. It makes a mouthwash sort of smell, but luckily not a mouthwash taste.

I find it brisk and refreshing, leaving my mouth cool but not too sharp. I don’t get any green tea taste, it must be hiding under the bold mint and the creamy vanilla. It’s definitely nice, since I love mint, but I don’t love this tea necessarily. Yet. Silly green tea. I’m having a weird week with teas. I’m sick so I think that is affecting all my perceptions, even though I can still taste properly, my general unwell feelings affect my judgment.

EDIT: (Over)Steep #2 brings out more hints of green tea flavour, but this is still predominantly mint. THe flavour has thinned out a bit, but is still a comforting cuppa minty goodness. I am getting a hint of the mouthwash flavour I associate with 52Teas Mintastic…I think it is the spearmint they use, maybe.

Indigobloom

I’m weird about green teas to. There are so many things about them that can put me off!

drank Sheri's Blend by 52teas

Re-visiting this one today as part of the never-ending Herculean effort to diminish my tea stash, or at least the ones I’m not crazy about. I steeped 1.5 teaspoons of this for about five minutes and got an apricotty brew with a hint more cinnamon than I would prefer, but it’s not too bad. I find cinnamon to be a tricky ingredient in tea as it always tries to take over. The blend is still pretty lackluster but decent enough. Maybe this should be a cold brew tea for the beau? Hmm.

Sil

go go trying to decrease the stash! good luck!

MegWesley

It is hard trying to drink down the stash. But it is also fun doing so!

Sadly, this one did not blow me away. I made some of this for my breakfast tea…It tasted better than it smelled dry (I wasn’t getting any apricot smell…I didn’t really smell much at all, really. It wasn’t like rooibos or apricot or cinnamon, but weird). Steeped, I got some of that apricot flavour, but didn’t find it to be very strong. I didn’t get any cinnamon, so it was just a decent and drinkable but mildly disappointing cup of apricot-ish rooibos.

My 52Teas order arrived yesterday, and I made a pot of this to try out. The smell in the bag was wonderful strawberry sweetness, like candy or strawberries with a lot of sugar. Steeped, the smell diminished somewhat and I personally found the flavours surprisingly muted. i got a hint of something I would call cinnamon (is there any in there? I hope so…) and would have liked a but more strawberry flavour to go with the dry smell. I think next time I’ll steep for longer and see how it goes. I also totally missed out on the pie flavours. I’ll try harder next time : )

KeenTeaThyme

I let this steep for at least 7 minutes, as well as the length of the cup. Maybe that will help?? :)

Uniquity

I think I definitely underdid it. i tend to let Rooibos go for 7 to 10 minutes, or the cup, but I treated this more as a black tea. I’m all over the place! : )

nomadinjeopardy

Yep, I like to steep the 52Teas honeybush teas as long as possible. They only get better!

Southern Boy Teas

I would also recommend about a tablespoon of tea per 12-16oz cup.

I really like black current teas and finally found one in the green tea. Thank you 52teas.com. The flavor is beyond what I had hoped for. The blending of flavor never gets old. I usually leave my tea leaves in my cup and just add water to it all day long. I like to get the tannins out of the tea leaves most people take the leaves out too soon says it makes the tea too bitter well, if you want the healthy aspect of tea drink it bitter.

Got this in the post this morning – very excited, especially afetr reading all the sparkling reviews it has.

Anyway, it has so many marshmallows in the mix, and I’m really tempted to eat them. But I won’, I will be good and save them for the tea. So, my cup has three little marshmallows in it and they are dissolving in the hot water very nicely. And this taste just like marshmallow treats! The first thing I taste is just the genmaicha, but then I get a more marshmallow-treat taste after that, which is quite sweet and really good.

I was so excited to try this – and it’s pure genius! Toasty, marshmallowy and sweet, this tea does remind me of a rice krispie treat! I did add Splenda which enhances the sweetness, of course. My first cup doesn’t have any marshmallows in it – they are further down the bag – but I can still taste a hint of it. Absolutely delicious, as per usual, Frank! :)

I’m so glad he got the stuff to make a vegan version!

2 heaping tsp. tea to 500 ml. water at the below parameters in my Breville.

This is one of those teas that I tend to forget about, even though I really like it while I’m drinking it. It has just enough sweetness from the marshmallow to not need any other additives. It really is reminiscent of a rice krispy treat – albeit a slightly vegetal one.

I really do need to remember to have this one more often – it is a great option for a dessert tea!

I really enjoyed my sample of this from the 12 Teas of Cjhristmas, which surprised me – I’m not much for green teas, but thinking genmaicha might be my gateway. It’s a good’un!

2.5 tsp. in 500 ml. water in my Breville.

I wanted a lighter tea this morning, and it’s been a while since I’ve had a green so I picked this out. The tea is divided today; I get the marshmallow more in the scent and the roasted rice part in the taste (it pretty much tastes like a regular genmaicha, in other words). I’m pairing it with something sweet (October Snickerdoodles, I have called them, since I rolled them in Pumpkin Pie spice instead of cinnamon) so I don’t mind.

This is a smooth genmaicha, even though I was worried about the steeping time being kind of long it didn’t affect the tea negatively. A nice light tea that will get me going today.

Cold brewed 3 tsp. in 750 ml. water for 20 hours. Tried at 9 hours but it was still too light so I left it overnight.

This is very tasty cold brewed – but not sweet at all, though I should definitely have expected that, as marshmallows don’t melt in cold water. (Not my smartest moment). Since the taste was affected but it was my fault, I won’t detract from the ratings. In fact, I compensated by having it to drink with a peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich, where it paired REALLY well. Plus I didn’t need to sweeten it! I love when I can drink a tea with no sweetener!

I’ll probably stick to keeping this brewed hot so I can taste the rice krispy treat that it is named for, but it was a fun experiment none the less. :)

Steeped in 10 oz. of water.
The dry leaf smells sweet and toasty at the same time, but also separate from each other, if that makes any sense. In other words, it smells like it looks, which is to say, genmaicha with marshmallows added.
As far as taste goes – it is really interesting!
I get the genmaicha on the front of the sip, and after it’s gone, there’s the marshmallow – it’s not sweet, really but it is marshmallow, none the less. If I added some sugar or sweetener this would be right on for a rice krispy treat. I’m impressed!
