Not a big hibiscus fan and this is heavy on the H. I cut the tart zing with sugar and that helped some. I love the way this smells, both dry and brewed – like a tropical paradise. It’s a decent tea, not my fave from David’s Tea, but not the worst thing I’ve ever consumed.

drank Vanilla Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

Smells of really good quality vanilla, honey, grass and citrus. Sweet and delicate, this tea has a pleasant and non-overpowering vanilla taste. Vegetal afternotes with a slight citrus end and for some reason I’m getting a sort of smokiness, but it’s nice! I really enjoyed the simplicity of the flavours and how they mold together perfectly. As it cools, the vanilla continues to linger with more vegetal notes!

Booze! This smells and tastes of booze. The beau and I got one as iced tea of the day then went right back in to pick some up to add gin to on occasion. How can this be so boozy? Aside from that, it was quite refreshing. Not too tart, not at all sweet. A lovely mix – almost like a kick-butt lemonade.

Sip-down central. The dry leaf smelled more caramel-y than before, I swear. But it wasn’t as toasted coconutty as before either. Hmm. It’s a good one but I may have to retract my statement about buying more in the future. Maaaaybe. It’s not a priority.

Coconut and chamomile are two of my favourite things, but together, I wasn’t so sure how this would pan out. The scent of the dry leaves doesn’t have a single trace of chamomile, but rather, a mixture of coconut and white chocolate.

I love how the scent morphs into a much toastier coconut when this is steeped. It even tastes like a toasted coconut macaroon. I also don’t taste any chamomile. Hmm, perhaps it blends in with the coconut to create that chocolatey vibe. The tea base is nice and smooth here. Not bitter or overpowering. I find that there is a perfect balance between the tea base and the coconut & friends.

I purchased 18g of this and will definitely pick up more once this is done. It’s the kind of tea that’s great to sip on when you’re not in the mood for anything too bold.

drank Perfect Pear by DAVIDsTEA

This doesn’t really remind me of pear so much as it reminds me of apple pear cheesecake. Or cream cheese frosting. It’s unpleasantly tart hot so I let it chill in the fridge for a few hours. Cold, this tastes both refreshing and decadent. It’s like fresh apple/pear juice but there also a creaminess that’s more tangy than just cream. So all combined it’s apple pear cheesecake. I enjoyed it. :)

The flakes of gold that fill my clear tea mug dance around with ever sip!

I’ve only found one other tea that i find myself thinking about.. daydreaming about if you will. This tea is the tastiest black tea I have ever had the pleasure to try! This is a must sample if you like black tea! It warms my soul with its hint of cinnamon and the addition of vanilla, orange peel, and cloves just sends me to the moon!

TRY IT! If you hate it, I’ll buy it from you!

This is my first time trying Pu-erh tea. After reading all the comments I was hopeful that a great new experience awaited me. I am disappointed so far – this tea doesn’t seem to have much flavor at all. I have re-brewed the leaves 3 times, each time longer than the last, and it never seemed to improve. The flavor is not bad, it IS earthy, and reminds me of lapsang souchong, but I expected more. Maybe next time I will steep it longer initially.

I did what a lot of others said, and rinsed the leaves for about 10-15 seconds and poured out the water, then re-steeped. Maybe this removed a lot of the flavor? I’ll keep experimenting, as I really want to like this tea! Any suggestions are welcome to this pu-erh newbie.. :)

What water temp did you use? Boiling, even rolling boil is usually suggested. Most pu’erh tea that I’ve drank, you certainly aren’t left wanting for flavor. They can be oversteeped (for my liking. Too dark and strong – overpowering) pretty quickly. Also, you may add a little extra on the leaves. Hope this helps!

Smells like strawberry cereal. Tastes a bit sour and astringent. Over brewed? Welly sample is gone now but in general I liked it okay. I had to add some sugar and milk to enjoy it though. Really tired. Might need more caffeine. Blaargh. Or chocolate. :)

I love DAVIDsTEA, and cherry coke. So when I saw this I was so excited. Luckily I tried a cup before buying a 100g tin like I usually do. I tried it iced and sweetened in store. The first sip was interesting, I could see why the call it cherry cola, but then this very strong musky flavor came into my mouth and took over. I couldn’t even finish a cup of it.

Mt favourite tea, I can drink this iced all day long, with it’s subtle tartness, and just the right amount of sweetness its the perfect tea.

When I’m sick a cup of the skinny soothes my throat, but when I’m looking to drink something before a big meal I make a big jug of it iced and voila no more room for the extra piece of dessert. I prefer it iced and sweetened. Don’t let it steep for too long or the ginger will overpower the tea.

Love this tea, it has the perfect amount of tartness hot, and iced and sweetened it’s even better. Definitely one of my favourite winter teas.

This was one of my first DavidsTea teas. I had it in store, iced last summer quite a few times and enjoyed the berry flavours (but mostly the iced part, I have to admit – it was hot last August in Toronto!). Like others, I have found this one can be a bit tart, so I add agave/honey generously to bring out the berry sweetness.

I’ve tried it hot too, but it wasn’t as special hot. If you’re wondering what its like hot and want to try, don’t bother!

I do like this, and will order a bit more later in the year for summer again. Its a good iced tea standard.

drank Love Tea #7 by DAVIDsTEA

What an intoxicating smell! Sweet and sticky, chocolate liquor richness to the nose. First sip gave me instant floral notes from one of my favourite flavours, rose. There was a definite fruitiness to the tea as well. Then comes that rich, smooth, almost fatty feeling on the tongue from the chocolate. The black tea was almost lost in the flavouring. This tea was slightly sweeter than most to the point if I added some honey or sugar, it would be too sweet. I want to keep on sipping just so I can inhale that rice aroma! Once it starts to cool, the chocolate dies and dulls and the strawberry takes over. Overall this tea was more appealing then I thought it would be!

drank Orange Blossom by DAVIDsTEA
836 tasting notes

This tisane has a flavour which is exactly what I would imagine an orange blossom to taste like. Light and sweet orange flavour with a hint of an artificial edge to it. The vanilla comes out and is what give it the sweetness. The rooibos flavour is present and balances out the orange flavour nicely- it is a welcoming taste in the mix, giving a slight contrast. I am not really able to taste the currants in this mix; they may be slightly present near the end of the sip.

As it cools, more of the complexity of the flavour is able to come out. The orange has a fuller taste.

Amanda sent me some of this one and it smells really yummy!

Much like a Creamy Peach Smoothie or Shake!

Once infused this is a green-orange-brown type color interrupted by floaties and textures galore! I will chalk it up to the Yogurt chips! This has a black tea base but it could have easily fooled me! It’s extremely weak for a black tea base.

The peach and yogurt pair for a lovely creamy flavor that is for sure! The stevia leaf gives it a bit of sweet but not all that much of an over-all contribution. Nor does the flower ingredients – but that’s ok with me.

The peach flavor is right-on but there are other factors in this tea that doesn’t seem to shine thru much or at all. Having said that – the overall peach-goodness is nice!

I ordered this tea online a few months back, I just finished my 50g bag a couple of weeks ago. I have to say, this tea is amazing. It makes a delicious iced tea- i have tried it hot but didn’t fancy it much. This is not THE BEST fruity tea i have bought from Davids tea- and when I go back to a store this Wednesday to stock up I probably wont be repurchasing- but it is up there on the list. If you want a really yummy fruity iced tea- I would suggest Mango Madness instead of this, It may cost more but it tastes much better. It has a nice fruity flavor but is also very tart and not too sweet.
Also, I find that this tea tastes and smells the exact same as strawberry lemonade from Teavana.

Special Thanks to Amanda for this one!

I’ve been called a Hippie (a drug-free one, might I add) on more than one occasion…so…here-goes!

This smells wonderful! Mango/Peach/Orange-like. This infuses to an orange-brown. There are some floaties – but – I can handle it!

Sure…this tastes like the fruits listed – mango, peach, etc…but here’s what I find interesting…perhaps my own little twist that I don’t think anyone has mentioned yet in their tasting notes and if they did and I missed it I am sorry!

This reminds me of a Fruity-Mango Chutney! The texture, the taste, the way it lingers, the fruits IN it! It’s really very nice! It has a GRAND flavor.

I really like this!

TeaBrat

It’s grooooovy!

Love it when this comes up! FAR OUT!

I’ve been on an iced tea kick with this continued heat. Fruity, tart iced teas are so refreshing, and this one is no different. It does take a lot more to make an iced tea, and I’ve already used up the entire 50g bag. I offered some to a friend with dinner last night, explaining it was caffeine free. She was not entirely convinced it would be any good, but after a few sips, she went on to have two more glasses!

To me, this is a perfectly balanced fruity tea. I tried it hot, and didn’t care for it much, because it seemed like drinking hot juice. Iced, and with a touch of sweetener, this is amazing. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more!

I didn’t really like this. I can’t explain why. It didn’t taste like caramel or… well… it didn’t taste like anything really. Some milk and sugar saved it from being a total disaster.

My sister bought this and I took a few sips from her cup.

I’m loving the peppermint and the fact that the chamomile is not too powerful. Also, it’s great that there’s valerian root in here and that you don’t taste it (because frankly, I love valerian but hate the taste). My sister said that it helped her sleep 3 nights in a row. Must buy.

Will edit this log when I manage to purchase some.

I was accidentally given 50g of this when I asked for 25g.

I do not regret this.

It tastes really really good. And I know it will be even better when I whisk it with a matcha whisk. It was a little bit bitter, but that’s okay. The grassiness of the tea matched my expectations so I’m happy.

Can’t wait to incorporate this in, like, everything I bake. MATSU.

drank Forever Nuts by DAVIDsTEA

Let me begin by saying that I don’t really like the color pink. It just makes anything seem less good than what it is.

Now let’s get to the actual logging. This tea tastes great with or without milk. Very little sweetening needed, too. The nuttiness is great but there’s something else about it. The creaminess is just great (yes, it tastes creamy to me).

Oh and I’m loving the pink.
