I feel like celebrating and this is a great tea to do it with!

So far the best chai tea I have tasted, it is very flavourful. I think they got the spice ratio down pretty good. The gauarana gives you a nice kick in the ass in the morning without leaving you all jittery or having a big downer later on in the day.

After having many battles with other steeping accessories I bought this and I love it. Its easy to use and clean, no plastic taste is left to the tea, no leave particles or whatnot makes its way through and it comes with a little coaster! The only thing i would change would be like a water guide so you know how much water you are adding!

I love this matcha! I find it holds up very well drinking it straight or mixed in to other things. I just had it now in a very delicious smoothie.

You should try making it! I used:
- 1 ripe banana
- about a cup of frozen peach slices
- about a cup of almond milk
- 1.5 tsp of matcha
blended together and served in a tall glass. A perfect way to enjoy this matcha.

Sadly, I’m almost out. There are more expensive matchas out there and I’m tempted to try them, just to see if I can tell the difference between them and this matcha.

I think my favourite way to drink this is whisked into a hot cup of almond milk. The sweetness of the almond milk pretty much makes it so I can make it as strong as I want and it won’t taste bitter.

My only problem is not drinking it fast enough so it all settles down to the bottom. I really need to invest in a matcha whisk/bowl.

I don’t really know how to compare this to other matchas since this is the only one I’ve bought (ceremonial matcha is just a bit too pricey for me) but it’s great for using in lattes and smoothies and stuff, and doesn’t have any added powders or sugars like matchas you might get in a matcha latte from a cafe.

I love how this tea smells.

I brewed it up last night for some iced tea and it’s got a pretty good flavor overall. Am I slightly disappointed that it doesn’t taste like an actual root beer float? Yeah, I am. But looking at it realistically, it’s tea.

And as a tea, it’s pretty darned tasty.

I am considering adding either whipped cream or root beer flavored vodka to it. Probably the whipped because it seemed to lack that super creamy flavor I expected.

I tried this partly because of the great reviews here. Chocolate, raspberry and almond? Sign. Me. Up.

When I open the tin, it smells like a raspberry truffle. Yum. Yet another tea I could just sit and smell all day long.

Once brewed, the taste lives up to the smell – so long as I use enough leaf.

This one will be staying on my shelf.

The primary taste that I am getting out of this tisane is that of artificial lemon flavour. It is missing that zing that I associate with a freshly squeezed lemon. I’m finding that I am associating the flavour with candle wax. There is a mild sweet touch on the aftertaste. I can detect somewhat of a minty feel near the end of the sip.

Wow, how is it possible that I logged this one TWO years ago, but not since?!

Anyways, I had this one again about a week ago or so ‘cause I was craving pop like a crazy person but I can’t drink the stuff anymore. Last year in the fall I think it was, I started having some real issues with any dark-coloured pops… SO like, Pepsi, Coke, Dr. Pepper… It didn’t sit in my stomach well and I ended up feeling sick. Like it wasn’t good. I won’t go into detail, but the pain wasn’t good and I needed a bathroom nearby.

ANYWAYS, I ended up craving pop like I was saying so I thought, “Hey, why not drink some of the Root Beer Float tea. That flavour should kill the craving.”
So, that’s what I did! And it did curb the craving! I was really surprised. I should have bought more of this one. I was so unsure of it when I got it, but now I actually really like this one. It’s delicious.

NOTE TO SELF: Enjoy this one when you are craving pop. It’ll be perfect to kill the craving.

I had this one yesterday afternoon but forgot to log it!

The smell of this one is unbelieveably like root beer. I love the actually root beer beverage so I had to try it, and the smell for sure lives up to the name.
I only made an 8oz glass, which for me is small. I always do 16ozs or more… but I wanted to ease myself into this tea.
My timer was acting up on me, so I think I may have steeped it a bit longer than I should have…
Once I tried it, I have to agree with another reviewer here. It was a weak taste when hot, but as it cooled, you could really get the flavours coming out of it. It is definitely a root beer flavoured tea. It was so yummy, but sweet! I made the mistake of adding the tinyest amount of sugar to it and I realize now I shouldn’t have. It was far too sweet. I think if I had skipped that I would have been fine.
I did add some milk to it too to try and bring out the creaminess. It did help, but even still, I think it would have been just fine without the milk.
I think I’d like to try this one chilled as it’ll probably make it taste more like what I expect when I hear root beer (A cold sweet beverage).
Also, I think this tea will be one of those ones that I save for when I want a sweet treat and something completely different.

I’m just back from a (nearly) week long conference for work. I forgot my tea at home (I usually take a few along for fear of Lipton turning up). So I drank coffee each morning gasp I know. But for me it was better to drinking Lipton. So now that I’ve returned home to my teas this one was the first I grabbed this morning. This time I’m enjoying it with a little of Penzey’s Vanilla Sugar and I have to say it really adds a bit of YUM to the taste without masking the Darjeeling. Next time I travel I’m packing the tea first, everything else just isn’t that important. ;)

This was ordered along with the Fall Collection. I’d been meaning to order it since i had a sample of it months ago, but for some reason I just didn’t get around to ordering it until now. This weekend is a busy one for our family. My little sister is getting married tomorrow. So there’s the rehearsal and dinner thing tonight (I’m in the wedding). Then sleeping over at my parents house (hubs is coming along or he might turn up late for the wedding tomorrow). Hair to get done tomorrow and wedding! Whew!

So I wanted something really nice to kick my day off with. The dry leaf is indeed a nice woodsy flavor. I wish David’s had a candle version of the dry leaf I could light in my kitchen…wouldn’t that be something!? The tea itself does have a bit of an astringent taste to it. But it isn’t bad or super bitter. Plus I will admit to adding a little sweetener and half and half to my tea. But not enough to change the color of the liquid. This is really great and I see my cup is empty so time for a refill!

I haven’t ventured much into the realm of Darjeeling teas. But I happened to grabbed a handful of sample sized teas today on my way out the door and this was one of them. It smells like well like I’m in the woods and NOT at my desk…for one. This one is not as astringent as the other (maybe two) Darjeeling teas I’ve had. Which is good I’m not a fan of that at all.

It almost reminds me of a stout, heavy, rich, etc. Which is great considering I can’t have beer anymore (stupid gluten). I fear there may be a David’s order in the future. That is the only “problem” with trying new teas…you risk liking them and wanting more and more of it!

This is very good. It really gives the impression that I’m drinking pina coloda. Smooth and creamy with a heavier mouth feel to it just like the drink. I think the pineapple and coconut are done really well since they feel pretty natural. Iced, this is the perfect drink for a hot summer day. This one shall get some cupboard space. :D

One step forward, six steps back…

By which I mean I’m drinking up the last of this, but just added 6 more to my cupboard. So much for “down to 100 or less by the 7th.” Oh well. At least I’ve learned my lesson by now about buying more than sample sizes of anything first-try. (With the exception of Teaopia’s Love Spell, since I’ve never had it before, and it won’t be available soon – may as well just go for the 50g, I know it’s good.) So most of those additions to my cupboard won’t be around for long.

[ Edit: Just discovered that Love Spell is apparently one of Teaopia’s “top 20,” so they are keeping it after all.]

This one is SO good, and a definite re-purchase at some point, even though it is stupidly expensive despite having barely any tea in it. (It is pretty hard to dent my high opinion of DAVIDsTEA, but these days even I have to wince when I open my bag or tin at home and discover, say, the half a slice of dried orange I found in my tin of Mango Madness. Seriously, I paid for the weight of that? What the hell am I even going to DO with that, use it as a cocktail garnish?!)

This is so creamy – especially sweetened with honey, which always adds to or brings out creaminess in teas – and like I said, I love creaminess! Creamy coconut is really the strongest impression I get from this one. Other people have said “caramel” and I get where that’s coming from, but I don’t know if it’s the first description I would have used if I hadn’t seen other people describe this tea that way. Perhaps if you could imagine a fruity version of caramel; that’s what this tastes like. There’s a sweet fruitiness to it under the cream and coconut.

So I guess that’s the mulberries. Although, to be honest, I’ve never had a mulberry. So I’m not sure exactly what they are adding to this tea other than that fruity note.

I decided to try for two steeps of my last leaf of this, so I steeped the first cup for 5 minutes and the second cup for 9, both around 90 degrees. I honestly expected the first cup to be weak, but it really wasn’t…and in the second, if I concentrate, I actually faintly taste the Bai Mu Dan-which-barely-was.

In other news, Tea Annoyances, it really sucks when “your” bathroom in the house is also the main bathroom because you drew the short straw for bedrooms and are the only member of the household without your own bathroom…so everyone uses your bathroom to shower, have baths, shave their legs for two hours, etc. AND YOU DRINK A LOT OF TEA.

I tried this at the Grant Park mall this morning and YUCK! It was served cool but I don’t think hot/cold would make any difference.

Cycled into work this morning (20kilometers) and needed something cold and refreshing this works perfectly :D

Another insanely hot day… 38C and that converts to 100F… good thing I have something cold to drink!

Making another one before I go wait for the bus, when I get home though I’ll probably have something else… not sure what yet :D
