Eggnog latte! So amazing on this very cold Saturday morning. I love the smoothness that the coconut adds to this tea. And of course, I like vanilla too, so I really enjoy this tea. Something about it makes it so comforting in the winter, kinda like a warm blanket.
Salted Caramel Eggnog Latte sounds like a brilliant idea… (I have Buttered Rum at home too, though – so maybe that one). It’s sorta family tradition, though, that we don’t buy eggnog until the last week before Christmas. I don’t know how that one started – but maybe now that I’ve moved out and am living on my own it’s time to start a new tradition?
I asked my oldest daughter to prepare my Timolino travel mug with some dry tea, so I could steep some tea at work. Her choice for me today was this tea! I love the light citrus/floral taste of Midsummer Night! Sitting up here in my little isolation chamber trying to keep warm… This tea is definitely hitting the spot :)
One thing that I really like about this tea? It still tastes great after steeping for over 1hr ;)
Love this tea, but will likely finish a sipdown of it tomorrow, which is sad, but this tea is another from our scary-old collection XD. Added a splash of vanilla sugar free syrup because I was trying to finish off the bottle and unf. It takes the dreamsicleness of this to a whole new level. So yummy, I will be sad to see this one go, but glad to have another old tea out of my cupboard.
Preparation
I have been craving this for WEEKS and when I couldn’t find it the other day, I nearly cried. But I found it! Oh Joy, my Orange Blossom is in my greedy little hands again! It’s so creamy and yummy and wonderful. I found brown sugar cubes at our new grocery store and they add a sweet depth to this tea that makes me wish I had bothered to wash my mason jar instead of settling for my favorite perfect mug. It’s been an awful day, but this little love has made it much better.
Preparation
So my lovely, wonderful wife brought this to me while I was at work yesterday. She picked this based on my oh-so-clear request for “Something cold and yummy.”
She chose wisely.
I didn’t know what it was at first, the flavors brought to mind being those of a cotton candy hard sucker or bubblegum. But eventually the orange flavors broke through and I clued in. I was extremely happy to remember that I have a tin of this at home. Love. Just so much love for this tea.
Made a cup of this Thursday before I figured out to add mate. I wanted a thermos of this so bad, but knew that if I only took a decaf tea with me, I’d be asleep at my desk by noon, so I settled for a liter thermos of Honeybee and a travelmug of this gem. So much love for this blend. I have to keep talking myself out of buying a tin, as we still have a 50 g bag to finish, but when that is gone, a tin will be happening, y’all. Creamy, orangey goodness? Yes please. Oooooh maybe I should ice some today…
This tea is amazing. Sweet and creamy…orangey without setting off my acid reflux, vanilla-y without being fake or cloyingly sweet. This is perfection in a mug. I think we may end up with a tin of this.
For those who follow me, I did contact DavidsTea about the bad service we received yesterday and they immediately apologized and set things right. The mark of a good company isn’t that they never mess up, everyone makes mistakes, but how they handle it when they do mess up. This is why I’m willing to give DavidsTea and Tealish so much of my business, they know how to handle customer service, and this is also why I warn people away from H&S. Customer Service is huge, people.
agreed! 2 years ago, I ordered 250g of an amazing discontinued tea on DT.com which they had forgotten to remove from the website while already out of stock. they contacted me apologizing, offered to replace it with a similar tea, and after saying how sad and disappointed I was about it because it was my favourite tea ever (which it was!), they made a special order for me and got me 300g of it!
Made this then poured it over ice last night, then resteeped the leaves for a cold steeping. I’m drinking that second steeping and I really think this is the way to do it.
Before when I cold steeped this, I didn’t think the creamy yogurt flavor really came out. After the leaves were used hot, I think it helped out on the cold steeping. I taste everything in there. It was fine brewed hot then poured over ice but it’s even better tonight. I think if this makes it to the months where it should be warm, the bag I have won’t make it to summer!
I didn’t think this was going to work as a cold press iced tea. I thought that maybe the creaminess from the yogurt wouldn’t come through since the yogurt bits wouldn’t be melting.
Oh no was I wrong. Looks like an ideal way to make this tea.
Cool bonus tip: the Argo tea bottles that they sell their teas in at like Whole Foods make for awesome containers to do overnight cold steeping. Just make it in there and strain into a glass, perfect!
In the bag it smell of the tea reminds me a lot of Red Mango frozen yogurt. It doesn’t smell quite the same in the liquor, where the lime becomes more lime than something vaguely tarty with the yogurt before.
This seems like another one that would be better cold. That’s okay, since in the coming days it’s going to quit being cold anyway. Nothing like going from using your winter coat to not needing one in 48 hours…ugh.
Anyway, there is just something I don’t like about the taste upon first sip. Beyond that though it is so good, I love how it turns creamy and I get the lime flavor. I don’t know though what it is that I just don’t like. I can feel it in my nose when I take a sip and it’s just gross. It can’t possibly be the lemongrass because my favorite foods ever involve lemongrass…wahhh. I’ll let it cool off and taste it cold instead now.
ETA: it’s now lukewarm and it is so much better. Iced only it is then!
Oh. My. Goodness.
The scent of this this tea is amazing. Strong, rich, the almond and fruity notes melding to create something reminiscent of cherry.
This comes through in the taste, though it was more subtle than I’d have liked it. I definitely want a longer steep and/or more tea in next time, and see how that changes the flavour. Still, especially with the scent, which blew me away both in the can and in the cup, and the lovely almondy notes, I can’t find much fault with this tea at all.
Not putting preparation details down because I was literally handed a full cup of this when I went into DAVIDsTEA today — an extra had been brewed and I was offered the results. I was down at in the dumps at the time, so this was the best pick-me-up I could’ve possibly ask for. While it didn’t affect the flavour at all, it certainly made the cup much more cheerful than I ever could have expected.
