Finished this up from the black tea sampler. I find this english breakfast brighter than others I have had. The liquor is a little more orange in hue. The flavor kind of reminds me or tomato sauce. Good though.

Had this again this morning. I tried to make fruit roll up out of Canteloupe for my daughter but it came out like chips. So I put a few in and it added some nice sweetness.

Aquired some this swapping with pizzagirl. Very light tea. A little nutty. Very similar to the Hou Shan Yellow buds. Not a huge white tea man myself but very high quality!

I got this on sale for 6 an ounce….so already I was excited to try it. The leaves have a somewhat sweet vegetal aroma. The liquor is pale like greener oolongs that I am fond of. The flavor is similar to Tin Kuan Yins that I have tried before. It’s not one of my regular steeps but still quite good!

This vendor’s roasted oolongs are excellent. Some of their flavored black tea blends are just OK. This primarily tastes like banana. Nothing special.

I liked this tea enough to snag another tin. Drinking it again I can definitely pick out the Pu-Erh. I’m starting to pick up the flavors of the Ancient Tea Tree as well. I think my palate is getting to the point where I can pick out the different regions much like some coffee drinkers, and wine drinkers do to my understanding….nerdy excitement there. I can taste the Yunnan black notes from the tea tree. Mixed with the Pu-Erh this is quite a good tea. It has the strength of a black tea but it’s not too bitter. Upping this one a bit.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-9T9tR0Rzg One of my favorite Scrooge clips :)

Back logging here. I got a can of this during the summer and it was the first can of tea that I cashed from Dr. Tea. This is a good everyday tea. The flavor is a little astringent but I still loved it. I couldn’t get a lot of Pu-Erh flavor out of this but I could taste the ancient tea tree. I would love to try them individually. I like it quite a bit and will likely order more.

I just finished my first can of this. I must say this is the best high quality matcha that I have had so far. I started off my matcha journey when I worked at Starbucks. I do love their matcha eventhough it’s highly sweetened. I do not have a matcha whisk but this mixes well with a mini steel whisk(egg beater). I will say the aroma at first was a little plastic like from the bag it came in, but the color is a nice pale green and tea is incredibly smooth. I got it on sale but it’s one of the more affordable matchas I have seen. I drank the last of my can this morning because I’ve been filling in on the morning show at the radio station and feeling great :)

I keep missing the sale where it’s $8.99. :(

The DJBooth

I think when I purchased it was 5.99…..did you happen to take advantage of the Hou Shan Huang at 6.00?

I ordered this in the Oolong sampler from Dr. Tea. It has a very pleasant aroma. I am a coffee drinker as well so this intrigued me. When I tried it I couldn’t taste the oolong as much as I could taste the roasted Hojicha and vanilla shavings. It is good but I’m not sure if I would purchase it as a daily tea.

Cofftea

Absolutely love this and all their coffee teas. I do still drink my 1 cup of actual coffee a day though.

P.S. When I first found this a couple yrs ago it was originally $30 for a small tin!

There are days where you just need to visit the old friends in your cupboard. I don’t think I need to expand on this one any more than I already have. So relaxing. Great today even though it’s sunny 60 in Clevealand.

Chicken breast in a baking dish with a mixture of lapsang, basil, and rosemary(steeped). It was fabulous. My wife and daughter loved it.

Once again I put a quarter teaspoon of curry powder into a cup of lapsang. Boiled and made cous cous. Threw in some shrimp sautéd in olive oil and lemon pepper…smoky and delicious!

I love this tea! I purchased a bunch of it when it was on sale. The aroma is fantastic and the Tea is even better. It definitely reminds me of sipping a campfire in a good way. I’ve got a couple of friends….including pizzagirl ;) hooked on this and took it with me to family Christmas. I bonded with my father-in-law and his father-in-law over this tea. When my brother-in-law came to tell him something he paused and said “hang on I’m at Cook’s forest right now”. So I also have him hooked too. I have used it in many recipes in cooking including marrinating turkey in it for chili. I can’t wait to compare it to other lapsangs.

If there is one tea that get me going anytime it’s the good doctor’s imperial nectar. Which is good cause to my dismay back to work today. It’s been a great couple of days chilling with the new Mr. Ezekiel Martin who was born Monday 8lbs 1.9 oz and 21inches long. So of course a toast is in order :)

gmathis

Absolutely! Enjoy! (Both the tea and the little one!)

So finally after long over due of sitting in a box dormant and unloved. I have unleashed my Yixing clay cup. What better choice for the inaugural steep than the good Dr’s Imperial Pu-Erh. I am very excited to start steeping in this vessel. Yes this mug will only have Pu-Erh steeped in it. A very noble choice for certain.

Went out to celebrate a friends birthday at Wasabi. Sushi, Hibachi, and Sake! Yes life is good, but holy cow! Too much food and lot’s of Sake from our chef. So the wife and I get home feeling really full. So what do I turn to? No not plop plop fizz fizz but the good Dr’s Imperial Pu-Erh. Reminds me of a classic from a gentleman like Billy D Williams! http://youtu.be/q6J7QtwEyN8 Does it everytime! :)

Zip-e-dee-doo-da zip-e-tea-a my oh my what a freakin cold day! Plenty of Pu-Erh warming my way….. Oh dear God I forgot how much I love this tea. This is my “treat” tea. Dark like coffee. Smooth as silk. Definitely helps me when I have to deal with the ex-wife. My tin is going to be done soon and that will be sad, but for now I’m enjoying every sip.

Gary

The Radio TEA MAN opened his TEA CAN,
Saw that the Pu-Erh, was Just about not There.
Turned the Can Over, Out came a Steep.
Now the Radio Tea Man, Won’t Have to Weep.
Keep on Steepin

The DJBooth

Working on my 9th steep and still tasty….radio man weep no more!

I ordered this tea awhile back and it is one of my favorites. It is on of the smoothest Pu-Erhs I have tried. I love how robust and full bodied this tea is. The liquor is very dark and almost looks like coffee. The earthy flavor is unique and tasty! I have found that tea is very good for an upset stomach too or over indulging in alcoholic beverages. I would recomend this tea to anyone. Definitely worth the price.
