Samurai TTB #14

Although the teabag smelled cookie-ish, the tea itself tasted mostly of chicory root with a little bit of almond and just a touch of spice. Pretty disappointing, but at least the wrapper is cute and Christmassy!

From the TTB.
Used 2 teabags. Smells like a chocolate cookie. Tastes like absolutely nothing. Just tastes kind of stale. I’m guessing this is quite old.

Arby

What temp did you brew it at? I had this one about a month ago and found it a bit stale but still flavourful.

amandastory516

I brewed it at 195degrees, but that definitely may be the issue.

Well, why not white tea today?

Took this one, as it sounded nice and I haven’t got white for a long time. I bet I have still it somewhere, but… nevermind.

Today I failed another exam. It was last chance this semester, so… next year probably. If I won’t give up the Uni.

The tea – hmm, decent. Nothing distinctive, but it had got notes of stonefruits and little bit of peach. Maybe little bit mineral. Drying aftertaste. Nothing great, but makes the day little bit brighter.

Maybe this tasting note is short, because I don’t really feel writing something.
Derk, I got your message, but can’t reply. Thanks for information and mine will be on the way this or next week.

So sorry about your exam, Martin!

tea-sipper

Don’t give up on school. You’ll get it next time!

Leafhopper

Ugh, sorry to hear about your exam.

Martin Bednář

Shae and Leafhopper: well, it is way too bad :/
tea-sipper: I say that myself for fourth year in a row maybe? I just can’t go through this mathematics… it’s not so hard, rather, way too much to learn and when I remember how to do something, I lose that what I remembered earlier. That’s what is bad about that.

mrmopar

Don’t give up when you are this close.

This is actually better than I was expecting. I expected tartness from the hibiscus but turns out its actually quite fruity. Mostly strawberry to be exact. I think this would also be a great iced tea. Although today I decided to try it first hot. Next time though… It’s getting iced.

Ever drive to Wichita? Don’t bother, we took care of it for you. Hot, flat, and highly unexciting…which is why hubby pulled into a World Market on the way out of town so it would at least feel like we had a little whimsy on the trip.

And there this was. It had me at strawberry and the rubber duck on the box. I didn’t even look at the ingredient list, which includes a couple of my unfavorites—hibiscus and licorice.

But you know what? They are barely noticeable in this luscious and remarkably strawberry little surprise. I don’t do alcohol, so I can’t tell you if the daiquiri part of it is flavor-accurate, but this is pleasant and strong on the strawberry. (Most of you know how much I love good strawberry tea.)

Have had one cup hot, one cup chilled. Just right both times. A little sugar and it would taste like Kool-Aid for grownups. Perfect on a triple-digit, fry-yer-eyeballs week.

Wichita, Wichita—in my Canadian imagination, it sounds like a good theme for a Country song.

This post delighted me, by the way. Who can argue with strawberry and a rubber duck on the box. And the silencing of liquorice wins me over as well.

What are your favourite strawberry teas, gmathis?

gmathis

This one: https://steepster.com/teas/tradtradition-slash-good-youngition-slash-good-young/27463-strawberry-black-tea … which, alas, I can’t find locally any more. Three bags in a mason jar in the fridge—summer lawn mowing thirst quenching goodness.

And this one: https://savoytea.com/collections/puerh-teas/products/chocolate-kiss Little fancier with chocolate and pu-erh. Strawberry bonbons.

Wichita’s claim to commerce is aerospace, as it is a small city a million miles of flatness from anywhere. Boeing, an air force base, other miscellaneous small plane manufacturers. Cornfields on the outskirts of town. ONE two-lane state highway (with occasional passing zones far too far apart) in from Missouri. But then, it has a World Market. I don’t!

Thank you. This one makes me happy. Now if only Zen Tea were to start selling it again. https://steepster.com/teas/zen-tea/30490-strawberry-cream

Mmm! Dessert after a spinach and strawberry salad with honey/apple cider dressing…you’re welcome to come over for a snack as long as you promise not to make fun of my filthy kitchen.

:)

Thank you. The very next time I am in Missouri.

I like this tea. Nutty and sweet, like most of the people I know! Haha! I bought it as part of a Christmas 4-pack for a cheap price at Winners. I haven’t tried the other 3 flavours yet but this one is definitely good! My mom tried it and likes it as well.

Mild to light flavored tea. I get a very light citrus/almond note accompanying its mild tea flavor. Agreeable both hot or iced. One of the better white teas I have tried, many tend to have too strong of a citrus flavor for my preferences. I tend to prefer non-herbal, strong black teas; however, this was a delightful change of palate. Four O’Clock has become one of my favorite tea brands based on this tea and their Breakfast/English Breakfast blend. Slightly expensive for an everyday product, but would recommend as an occasional treat.

One of my favorite black teas. I drink both iced and hot black tea daily and by far this is one of my favorites. Slightly pricey as far as black teas go, but for me, its worth the price. I would say it is comparable to Twinings. Its a bold, full flavored black tea but does come across as bitter. I would also recommend the white tea from Four O’Clock as well; however, the green tea wasn’t one of my favorites from them.

Not my favourite tea. I found it a bit bitter and lacking in almond biscotti flavour. It was nice to try once, but I would not buy it again.

Sipdown! I liked this tea a lot more than I initially thought I would. I drank it iced quite a few times this summer.

This time I made a pitcher of this iced by itself instead of mixed with another flavour of tea. Tastes like a very watered down virgin strawberry daiquiri. I do like it. Thankful that I can’t taste the hibiscus. Makes a mild, refreshing iced tea for the summertime.

I made a big pitcher of iced tea. I’ve been drinking most of my tea iced lately. I find it a nice change of pace from having it hot and I’m finding it quite refreshing for the summertime. I mixed together this tea with Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Vanilla and the result was a treat. Tastes like strawberry bubblegum! Really nice! The strawberry flavour was obviously coming from this tea and it did taste like sweet, ripe, juicy strawberries. I will prepare this combination again until my Sleepytime Vanilla is gone and then I will make it using only the Strawberry Daiquiri.

We usually use Lipton bag green tea. My husband bought Four o’clock green tea from costco. We hated the taste. It is a kind of sour with no taste. You can never fill a fresh taste of newly brewed tea of this tea. I will use lipton green. I like Lipton’s taste.

Want to like. Keep trying to like. But, do not like. Sadface. White teas never seem to ring my bell, so maybe that’s it? I dunno, though. I keep searching for the “almond” in the “almond biscotti”, but I can never find it. All I get is a thin, vague sweetness. If I spot it on the shelves again this holiday season, I think I’ll take a pass.

I received a sample of this from MirandaGou in our swap. Thank you!

I had this a week or so ago at work. Since I drank this at work the brewing conditions were less than perfect. I wasn’t a fan. It was a decent quick cup of tea, but I wouldn’t purchase this again.

Sipdown!

Still a decent tea, but not a fave. It might be something I’ll pick up on an occasional basis, because it does have body for a white tea, but there’s just so many more teas I love out there.
