I’ve had crummy luck with the couple of bagged Earl Greys I’ve tried. They were terribly bitter. This one is surprisingly good! I prefer my Earl Greys with creme, but this one could live without it. It’s a decent black tea with a decent bergamot flavor! MUCH better than the other bagged Greys, but not as good as the loose leaf teas. I wonder why they are so different?

So my father drinks this tea all the time, we have like a case of it in the cupboard. Not like one of those little green boxes i mean like a cardboard case with six of those green boxes inside.
Me being a new tea person, i decided to see what all the fuss was about and brewed myself a cup one day from may dads stash and it was actually pretty good, compared to the kinds that you get at your local Chinese resturaunt which i have tried multiple times and still think it taste like dirty water, this higgins and burkes brand is a step way up!

This summer I wanted to try another tea at Mickey Dee’s and was in a green kick, so I said why not. Why did I drink this tea? It tasted so putrid and bitter, and just all kinds of gross and yuck.I will not drink this tea again.

No that bad of an earl grey. It doesn’t get bitter when the bag is left in. my go-to tea at Mickey Dee’s.

I’ve had plenty of Earl Greys, and this one has been my favourite insofar. I drink it as often as I can. For me it seems to have the perfect blend of very strong tea and aromatic bergamot.

Very thin flavor. The most I can detect from this blend is the essences of spearmint. Slight bitterness in the background

Had this today at a restaurant. It was pretty decent, especially because I was cold and just so grateful to have something warm to hand on to. The bergamot was quite strong. I added one sugar and a dash of milk, and that barely touched the bergamot. The brew was strong, but not bitter tasting or astringent. I would have this again.

I, weirdly enough (and out of all places), tried this at an AMC movie theatre. It was the only thing that was reasonably priced, $2 for a 14-16 oz cup.

After ordering and selecting my tea, this one I was in the mood for, I headed to my seats.

This tea was great, full of flavour, from start to finish.
Taste: Strong apple, very sweet apple, and hints of cinnamon. It was combined very well together, with good quality seeming ingredients, Very RICH.
Smell: Like Apple Cinnamon, it was just really rich.

Overall I would recommend this tea over many of the other apple cinnamon’s I have had.
I say go for it!

drank Peach by Higgins & Burke

Had my last bag of this this week. It isn’t a bad tea, especially considering it is bagged. In fact, until I discovered the peach tea from Charleston Plantation, this was my favourite peach. Now though, it just seems lacking in comparison.

I got addicted to this tea last year in my residence!
It’s just so good and it’s such a good way to enjoy a warm cup of tea without feeling like I’m going over my daily caffeine limit.

It tastes very good I think, and the fact that the lemony taste is strong is a big plus for me. And there is a mild sweetness that lingers with the freshness of the lemons that just makes this tea so much better. I had the tea with a sweetner for the first time today – and it gets even better!!!

The only bad thing is, I can’t find it ANYWHERE (in boxes) in Toronto… The only option I have is to order 6 boxes of it – and while I do love this tea… I don’t think I need 120 bags of the stuff. not yet anyway ;)

I’m having this at work as I stopped at the little food shop on my way in for a snack and wanted some tea made for me, but was feeling a strong aversion to ordering bagged tea. So I went with a bagged herbal, thinking that was a nice idea. This smelled great as I carried it in, and isn’t bad, but the cinnamon tastes a little soapy or like fragrance oil. I can’t get that thought out of my head on each sip!

Recently got into the habit of drinking tea and I’ve been going back and forth between this and the English Breakfast. I definitely enjoy this one over the English Breakfast – it’s more flavorful.

I like lots of flavor so i keep the bag in my cup. I usually drink it for breakfast every morning, and have the earl gray with lunch. I find the Earl Gray to be more flavorful.

I tried to get tea from DavidsTea, but they were out of cups, so I had to look elsewhere. So I ran to the McDonalds and ordered the biggest cup of orange pekoe they had…I desperately needed it today at work. It was tasty, and hit the spot when I needed it. Still, by the end of the day, I was ready for some real tea.

I ended up having to work late and then meeting the wife at her job so we could bus home together. We’re both exhausted, so we stopped off at McDonald’s for dinner. I’ve been craving tea all day, so I got a large orange pekoe. De likes their Earl Grey a lot, and the orange pekoe wasn’t bad at all for a bagged tea! It definitely hit all of my tea-soothing buttons. I just wanted to curl up in a nice cup of tea, so I did! It was very, very nice. Definitely an option when I just need a big cup of tea on the go.

i’ve always loved Chai – i find the aroma inviting and warm- I smell sweet cloves peppercorns and ginger of course- i’ve added milk and honey- only because i’ve always had it this way- since i was young. This tea is great on cold days- truly warms you up from head to toe

I forgot to log this one. I drank it while awaiting my plane in the “Runway Cafe”. I even jotted down a couple notes and thoughts (not a normal habit—I don’t want to look like some weird food critic scrutinizing their service).

My thoughts, quoted directly from my notes: “Brews dark (fanning); taste is bold, not bitter. Bergamot scent borders on Pledge-y, but that doesn’t translate into the taste. Just a touch of dark citrus. Well-rounded earl grey. I like it. 72-77%?”

No idea what their water temperature was at, but I default-steep most plain blacks at five minutes.

I mark this as a recommended with a caveat – if you can’t get to loose leaf or whatever, then H&B is the best of the bagged when it comes to Earls. It’s McDonald’s house blend, so it’s easy to find. Doesn’t go bitter quickly and stands up to the water they use, which we all know is roughly the temperature of the surface of the sun.

I will fully admit. I only got a cup of tea from McD’s today because their new coffee cake muffins are divine, and tea and muffin is only $0.20 more than just a muffin.

Coffee Cake Muffins… I wish the McD’s in Ecuador had things that tasty… : ( They don’t even have tea!

Mid-morning tea break. Still love this tea. Luckily, hard to mess up (I’m looking at you, McD’s employees). Can’t beat a large tea and a muffin for a buck fifty.
