A decent orange and passionfruit tea I would have enjoyed I’t more if there was no jasmine in this.

Another favorite of mine. Not bad for stuff from the grocery store!

I’m not a fan of iced tea, unlike my Mom, the Iced Tea Queen. Mom bought a 12 pack of this, thinking it was the diet version (she’s on a strict no-sugar diet). So she nagged me to drink it. I tentatively tried a bottle and braced for impact.

About a dozen 12 packs later, I think I can say that this is an iced tea that people who do not like iced tea will like. It’s very sweet but not syrupy and doesn’t leave a coating on yoru tongue that you later need a glass of cold water to wash off. It’s really good when you wake up in the middle of the night and your mouth is really dry and you need something to cut the thirst but your tap water is kinda dodgy.

Goes well with food or by itself. One day I may fill up an ice cube tray with this and freeze it to see if it makes a decent popsicle … but that would take effort.

This is actually a pretty good softdrink! I don’t really think of it as tea, but it is a really nice, sweet thirst quencher. The raspberry does taste pretty fake, though.

But a nice kind of fake. I think Lipton is owned by Pepsi, which may expalin why it does taste soft drink-ish.

drank Honey Green Tea by Lipton
67 tasting notes

I was visiting my Dad and his wife one weekend and ran out of the teabags I had packed. (Dad & my stepmother are coffee drinkers. I, as usual, had completely underestimated the amount of tea I drink in a weekend.) But he had bought me a box of this in honor my stay. Since he didn’t have a kettle, I had to brew this in the microwave. The results did not look promising.

But the tea actually came out well. It’s one of the best things Lipton has ever put out. I’m starting to think there isn’t any actual green tea in it, but black tea and powdered heroin or something, because every couple of months I buy a box, if I happen to find it.

Most green teas need delicate and careful handling, but you can really abuse this tea and still get a decent cup. I think it tastes best with using only hot water but I’ve accidentally used boiling water and the results were pretty much the same. It goes better with food than drunk all by it’s lonesome.

My Mom (not to be confused with my stepmother) likes to drink this hot or iced.

For tea, yes. But then again I don’t like herbals alone.

drank Cinnamon Apple by Lipton

I’ve had many bad experiences with Cinnamon Apple Herbals from most companies. I usually find them way to sweet or tart or fake/cheap cinnamon tasting and end up dumping the contents down the drain. I bought a cheap sample package of Lipton Herbals last night and this was one of the samples inside the box. Before, during, and after steeping the cent was wonderful. It reminded me much of Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal. The taste wasn’t bad but it wasn’t awesome either. Moreso I think I am grateful for it NOT being too flavorful for once. It was a mild blend of Cinnamon, apple, and tea. Honestly I would have loved it even more if it was a flavored black tea but this was a good attempt. Overall I was fairly surprised and glad I open my mind and tried this. I won’t be pouring it down the drain.

drank French Vanilla by Lipton

This is a very basic, blah french vanilla blend. I much prefer any of the Bigelow vanilla teas over this. Lowering the rating since last time I drank it, I was ill and apparently it’s not as good as I remembered!

I haven’t had this in a long time (and I’m still sick, so my sense of taste is way off), but I enjoy this for a basic vanilla black tea. I think in general, Lipton gets a bad rap, but I’ve never had a problem with their teas.

I’ve almost finished off the box of this, and I will definitely buy more (although I’ll try to hold off seeing as my cabinets are overflowing right now!).

I decided to try this tea at work (because I won’t pay for it) after seeing the “Modern Marvels” episode about tea. Surely if they think highly enough of lipton to dedicate 75% of an episode to it, it must be good right? Wrong! This tea has a decidedly old taste. In fact if you really think about it, it tastes dusty. It is quite obviously over oxidized, which makes sense. Lipton produces millions of pounds of tea a year. Which means they have to get their tea from about as many places. Goodbye terroir, hello heavy oxidation. If you have a load of tea from several different sources, the only way to make it all taste the same and maintain product continuity is to oxidize the hell out of it. It’s like what would happen if you took an apple, a pear, and a carrot and put them in the oven for the clean cycle. At the end of the cycle, they’d all taste the same. Drinking lipton is so unnecessary. Even in places where it’s the only thing available. With the expansion of tea sales on the internet, (case in point: steepster) no one of discerning taste need resort to this unholy liquor. Of course Lipton does do us a big favor. They keep our favorite teas cogent by keeping their market share down, and their batches small.

drank Peppermint by Lipton

Stereotypical Lipton. Stereotypical Peppermint Bagged Tag. However, this specific one sure brings back memories of my childhood when my Grandmother first got me into TEA at the age of 3…so for that reason alone I will be scoring it higher than I normally would…teehee…or should I say TEAHEE

This smells awesome…then again I’m a fan of mango and peach. The peach scent might come thru a tad more than the mango but not by much. It’s a true white tea color. It’s also flavorful for a white tea…moreso than most I have tried esp bagged. The longer it steeps the more you can smell the mango. It’s weird but it a good way that within the same sip you can taste the peach to start and by the end of the sip you get the mango. You can taste both main fruit flavors but can still tell it’s supposed to be a white tea. It’s one of those teas that make you think but you can still enjoy it. I would try this again.

Again, bought this because it was on sale…but am so far excited about this attempt. I was a little afraid because it had the potential to be overly sweet and tart and fruity but I really think the red tea base helped that cause. You can taste both the Strawberry and the Passion Fruit…almost equally, it seems. It’s sweet but not too sweet. Tart but not too tart. Fruity but not too fruity. And Refreshing. Because I don’t like over the top fruity blends this seems to be ‘just right’ for me.

I was going for quantity here and saw this and other Liptons on sale today so I jumped on the op. This isn’t something I would normally choose for myself, however, I wanted to broaden my horizons :) I must say I was pleasantly surprised. After steeping this smelled like those Werthers Candies or something. Again, not something I would normally go for. I thought it would be too sweet and caramelly (Oh! I made a new word!) but it wasn’t bad at all. It was actually a bit smooth. The coloring is that of a paler brown/black tea or brownish with reddish tint.
