This was my 2nd ever loose leaf tea! Pretty tasty and WOW IT SMELLS SO FRICKIN GOOD. I haven’t had it in a while but I remember it being a lighter black tea, not too bitter, and the strawberry flavor was very sweet and prominent. Did I mention the smell was to die for.

This was my very first loose leaf tea, back in the day! I RUINED A LOT OF MY FIRST BATCHES OF IT and made it super bitter because HAHA I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING but once I got the hang of it it was great! I ran out of it now but I would really love to give this tea another shot in the future because the smell is absolutely PHENOMENAL!

drank Piccolo by Lupicia

Piccolo is marketed as a children’s tea by Lupicia because it’s caffeine-free. I do think children will like it because it is bursting with berry flavours! The rooibos base is very sweet with a hint of nuts, and most importantly it has no weird straw-y flavour. This overall tastes more like fruit juice (with artificial flavouring, which the kids love :P) than tea.

drank Peach Melba by Lupicia
338 tasting notes

OMG, my cup is seriously oversteeped!! The recommended brewing time should be 3-5 minutes…

Luckily this is a rooibos, so oversteeping is relatively a lesser problem… I don’t know what peach melba dessert tastes like, but this tea has the bright flavours of its ingredients – (canned) peaches and vanilla ice cream! It tastes really creamy and has the right amount of sweetness. It’s a yummy tea that will delight everyone with a sweet tooth.

drank Thé au Lait by Lupicia

A cup of full-bodied strong tea!! Exactly what I need right now even though I am not a big fan of anything robust like this. It’s not bitter, and it’s less astringent that expected. A bit of milk and sugar would have been fantastic, though I won’t complain because it’s a pleasant drink by itself.

Can’t believe I had not reviewed this one before! I also didn’t even have it in my cupboard! When did I get so lax on that? I have had this tea for a long time.
I love this tea.
It has the sweet / sour cherry flavor with the minty coolness behind it that is subtle yet present enough to give that cooling sensation in the mouth.
A great morning wake up tea!
The cherry flavor lingers nicely and leaves a delicate sweetness on the lips.
Its a romantic tea. What I mean by that is I could see this being a tea to serve at a valentine’s day tea party, or in a beautiful garden setting, a “ladies tea” if you will. Not to be sexist lol.
Its has a floral element to it as well.
I know this tea gets a lot of mixed reviews but I just adore it.
Its excellent as it cools too!
This is a stash keeper!

Babble

Almost got this with my last Lupicia order, but decided not to. It’ll probably be a while before I make one again since $60 is the free shipping minimum.

Azzrian

That is the problem with Lupicia soooo many wonderful teas to try!!!
I try not to go to their site unless I am READY to spend quite a bit of cash!

drank Miss Jasmin b (Flat) by Lupicia

The combination of jasmine and bergamot simply sounds delicious. But I’d say it has less jasmine flavour than I hoped. The floral note is subtle at best, and bergamot is present but not terribly potent. Instead, this tea is dominated by the overpowering aroma and flavour of muscat gummies instead. Muscat is nice but… this tea just doesn’t live up to its name!!!

This was very good, and I didn’t actually realize it was a Darjeeling until after reading these reviews! I got it free in a Lupicia mail order and it was a very interesting taste.

I actually usually shy away from Darjeeling, I don’t know why, it usually tastes too light and acidic or something to me, and I often go much heavier and maltier (i.e. Assam or Yunnan Gold) when picking a Black tea. But this was really quite good, I had it without milk and it was quite a powerful taste. At first the colour and texture made me think it was actually a Pu-Erh!! It is a bit woodsy. Maybe there is some mix in here. In any case it’s a great blend of some sort, and I enjoyed it a lot more than a straight Darjeeling.

drank Melon Oolong by Lupicia
470 tasting notes

I sure am drinking a lot of tea tonight. This is my second cold steep of the day and I already have another one in the fridge, plus I had matcha this afternoon. I’ve already planned out my evening tea as well, sigh. Hopefully it’s not too much caffeine—usually tea caffeine doesn’t have too much of an effect on me, but 5 cups in one day is more than my usual so we’ll just have to wait and see.

I love melon teas, and I already have two I adore (Butiki’s Cantaloupe & Cream and GMT’s Persian Melon) but they are both white teas and hey, one more can’t hurt! Actually, counting watermelon I probably have way more than 2, but for some reason I don’t count watermelon in the “melon” flavor family. Cantaloupe, honeydew, and stuff closer to that is what I think of when my brain goes to melon. I guess the flavor of watermelon is just really different? It’s also got a really different consistency.

The description doesn’t say what type of melon flavor is used. It smells somewhere between cantaloupe and honeydew, so I’d assume it’s sprite melon. When Japanese snacks are listed as melon flavored that is usually what it is. It’s also got very pale flesh, and the chunks of dried melon in here are white. So, sprite melon oolong! The smell itself is juicy, fresh and enticing but almost candy-ish in its sweetness. I find that true with a lot of Lupicia’s blends, but they rarely have that artificial, sugary-sweet aspect once brewed.

This is no exception, since the taste is pure, delicious, fresh melon! At first I thought the oolong was kind of lost, but as my tea “warmed up” (my fridge is VERY cold!) the oolong popped into the picture. Soft, floral, and very delicious. The melon compliments it perfectly, and it seriously tastes like fresh-squeezed melon juice mixed with green oolong. Perfection! Well, honestly this doesn’t beat out Cantaloupe & Cream, but in its own way it is almost as good!

Cool, I didn’t know about sprite melons!

drank Cassis & Blueberry by Lupicia
470 tasting notes

I got a couple free pyramid bags of this in my order and I’m really in the mood for a low-maintenance tea so into the cup this went! Like others have said the smell of this is intoxicating, like fresh jam that you’re just about to spread on wonderfully crusty toast. Steeped, it has almost a candy aspect. There are these Japanese cassis hard candies that I really like and this smells just like them!

I think the reviews on this one are spot on: it doesn’t taste nearly as strong as the smell (either of the dry leaves or the steep). However, it’s a nice mellow black with a prominent cassis flavor and a hint of blueberry, and like all teas that I’ve tried from Lupicia it has no artificialness at all. I also really overseeped it and it came out fine, not bitter at all! I’m honestly kind of glad it doesn’t smell as strong as the leaves, since that would be kind of like drinking candy! I love berry teas and this is definitely a nice one: I’d actually consider getting this in bagged form rather than loose since it’s so darn convenient.

drank Earl Grey Chocolat by Lupicia
338 tasting notes

I’ve found it finally – my favourite chocolate tea!!! :D I just lurrrrrrve this!!!!

As a chocolate lover, I am hopelessly attracted to chocolate teas. However, most of the chocolate teas in the market are not as tasty as they have promised. Many of them smell lovely but there’s a lack of chocolate in the taste. Some are malty rather than chocolatey, and a few are even bitter. :(

But Earl Grey Chocolat of Lupicia is so so so different! It smells and tastes very much like milk chocolate – rich, sweet, chocolatey and non-bitter. Reminds me of hot Valrhona chocolate… it is so hard to believe that it is a tea. Better still, the base of this tea is a floral Earl Grey. The combination of bergamot and chocolate is awesomely fragrant and delicious, just like fruit-infused chocolate truffles. :D Serve it at a tea party and I am sure that every guest will be amazed!

drank English Blend by Lupicia

Aromatic and robust, perfect for Sunday morning. The fruitiness of the Ceylon base dominates the cup. It’s slightly sweet and there’s no bitterness at all. This is one of the few non-flavoured teas that can earn a high rating from me. :)

drank Champagne Rosé by Lupicia
200 tasting notes

Thanks to Azzrian for the sample!

I’m not much of a drinker, and when I do drink on occasion, it’s not usually champagne. But, I am a sucker for odd flavored tea, so I couldn’t pass this up.

I steeped it for the recommend 4 minutes, and it was a little too bitter for my liking. And then I steeped it for less time and it was still a little bitter, so I’m thinking it might just be the flavor of the tea. Since I’m particular about the types of champagne, this may be my problem.

drank Strawberry & Vanilla by Lupicia

Thanks to Will Work For Tea, I was able to try this heavenly perfect blend! I love the ingredients in this blend. The leaves look great too. I just saw Amy Oh’s review that mentioned it tastes like Strawberry Quik. I forgot about Strawberry Quik! But it does really taste like it! The steep color is a cloudy light green. Cloudy from the matcha. I think this is the first loose leaf matcha I’ve tried. The strawberries are only sweet to me, not sour. The only difference I would make is a stronger vanilla flavor, but that might make the other flavors hidden. I really like this one… realy fresh and delicious. I just wanted to sit here & do nothing but slowly sip this tea for the next three hours!

drank Decaf Muscat by Lupicia
338 tasting notes

Last night I had a cup of Earl Grey Chocolat before going to bed, and I was unable to sleep after rolling in the bed for 2 hours. So I decided to have decaffeinated tea tonight before sleep…

I picked this tea bag from The Book of Tea for Ladies. I loved the smell of the dry leaves and liquor – juicy, sweet muscat! Hmm actually I have never tasted real muscat, but at least that’s how muscat gummies smell like! Sadly, the liquor had nothing to do with fruitiness or sweetness. It’s just a bland black tea… I wonder if the lack of flavour has anything to do with its decaf nature (I don’t have much experience with decaf tea). Every sip is a disappointment – you can smell the cheerful, sweet muscat fragrance as you hold the cup to your mouth, and this leads you to have a certain expectation about the tea… but after you have taken a sip you realize that there’s so little taste in the tea. Aargh.

drank Muscat by Lupicia

While I prefer the Muscat Oolong by Lupicia this is a real treat too.
Lupicia knows how to do Muscat!
Perfect natural grape flavor not candy like whatsoever but so clear clean and crisp.
Delicious.
Like fresh juice from ripe purple grapes.
It doesn’t get any better than this.
I have totally enjoyed 95% or more of the Lupicia teas I have tired with exception of maybe only one which was so-so but not bad.
Love this company for dependable high quality teas!
Oh and by the way this one is bagged – got as a sample a couple of months ago in their Snail Mail newsletter which I highly suggest everyone subscribe to for excellent free samples!
Cheers!

Thank you Bonnie for this sample.

I made a hot pot of this tea.
I drank it for breakfast, paired it with cheerios and milk.
The taste was excellent, no milk or sugar needed!
My mom had a cup and said it was “delicious”
This is my second Puerh tea that I have tried.
The cinnamon stood out. What’s not to love about this tea?
Not bad! Thanks Bonnie

I am going to chill the rest of this tea.
Also I will check out http://www.lupiciausa.com/ soon.

I hope you watched cartoons too! Sounds like something I’d do!

Thank you to Will Work For Tea for sending me a bit of this to try. This is my first experience with a Lupicia tea and I was excited to get to try it out since I have only even read good things about the company.

This tea reminds me of fresh and delicious strawberry ice cream. (and I didn’t even add cream to mine!) There is a lingering sweetness but also a light green tea crisp flavor that really pairs well in this tea.

I imagine this one is delicious over ice. Next time I make a glass of iced tea I think I will give this one a try again.

Tricked me. Thought it was Ceylon; reminiscent of the stuff we had at home. Pretty good cold or hot, and it should be good with milk too.

drank Orange & Ginger by Lupicia
338 tasting notes

Hmm, this is better than I thought! The combination of orange and ginger doesn’t sound too exciting to me, but at least it’s not as off-putting as hibiscus and rosehip. Actually, I think I am getting to like ginger more and more :)

The notes of ginger and orange are rather mellow in this tea. The orange flavour is sweet, and there’s a bit of chocolate flavour too! The sweetness kinda neutralizes the hotness of ginger, which is good because ginger sometimes makes my mouth dry and sore. Now I enjoy the mild warmth in my cup, which help me unwind after a day of hard work… :)

drank Sakura Vert by Lupicia

Sometimes, I get tired of straight tea, the gongfu style of brewing, the mess, the ritual, etc., and this seems to happen more often during hot summer days. Looks like it’s time for some flavored iced tea!

I visited my local Lupicia store hoping to get a nice flavored green and ended tasting this.

The flavor was… totally unexpected. Smooth and vegetal like your regular Japanese green, with a fresh crisp salty finish. As someone else said, the “saltiness” reminds me a lot of the leaves some mochis come wrapped in, especially in the aroma (which is one thing about this tea that I like the most, such a good scent when brewed).

I liked it overall, but like the shop clerk told me, most people find this salty hint a bit too much and I can see why. But I just find it really comforting right now. Even while drinking it hot, I feel slightly refreshed, despite these hot days. We’ll see how the iced version tastes…
